I wonder if he believes the rumors of Len at 1.

As far as I can tell that rumor, at least the one floating yesterday, was started by Jimmy Smith of the TP. The TP RARELY breaks news about the Pelicans, but now they have scoops on the Cavs? His tweet about it came out shortly after Sheriden Hoops mock with Len at 1. So he was either repeating someone else's mock/rumor, or this was propaganda straight from Len's agent (Smith did point out that Len had just been in for a workout).

Given the T-Ps track record, he probably just happened to be searching twitter and saw Sheridan's mock. That likely became his "source."

There's also 7 SFs that project to go high in next years draft. Next year is the year to get a SF.

This is why we should not force any sf moves this summer. And most of those guys, to me, look better than porter.

Cmon son. The Saric stuff went off the rails at some point.

I'm not saying it will definitely happen, or I want it to happen, but it's pretty obvious that Dell really wanted the guy. Like someone else said, next year is supposed to be deep at SF, so we might not even have to pick top 10 to get him.

Well.....that wouldn't be forcing unless we pay something like $15.9mil!!!

1. Noel
2. Dipo
3. Porter
4. Bennett
5. McLemore
6. Len
7. Burke
8. MCW
9. KCP
10. CJ McCollum

Whoa. That's surprising that he's not in the top 5 with everything I've read the past few weeks.

But as I've said and keep saying. The pick will either be Len, Burke or Saric.

I don't think there's any way that Len falls to 6 at this point, but I would be pretty ecstatic if it gets to 5 and McLemore and Len are both there.

They had Ford and Jay Williams on there talking about the prospects. Jay said he'd prefer Len as the #1 C over Noel.

According to Ford, Saric is officially withdrawing from the draft.

So since next years SF class is loaded, we should avoid signing one for a 1 yr contract?

Agreed.

Of the top 10 listed there, the only players I really don't want are Noel (want our center of the future to have some more bulk to protect AD), Bennett (just don't want a PF), and MCW (shooting woes concern me). I can easily find a way to be happy with any of those other guys. I do think KCP is a bit of a reach at 6, but I like his scoring/shooting potential.

Here's Ford's Pelican write-up if any of you guys wanted to see it...

quote:

6. Alex Len, Maryland
Analysis: Len could go as high as No. 1 to the Cavs or No. 4 to the Bobcats, but I doubt he gets past the Pelicans at No. 6. Pairing him on the floor with Anthony Davis makes for a terrific front line. Small forward and point guard are the other two directions in which the Pelicans could go.

They love Porter, but its doubtful he'll still be there at No. 6 and after Dario Saric withdrew from the draft on Monday, there weren't any other small forwards to be really excited about. They like Trey Burke and Carter-Williams, but sources continue to say that they think Austin Rivers can still make the transition to point guard.
