Landry type production at 10 is a hit. Not a homerun, but that's a solid pro who will help and can serve as trade bait later on.

I see Sullinger's floor, barring injury, being at that 13/7 level.

I think Sullinger will be better than Landry. Definitely a better rebounder.

For argument's sake though, you'd be upset if the Hornets drafted Landry 2.0 at 10?

Landry is probably going to make $6-7m/yr somewhere else. If Sully comes in and gives you a better rebounding version of Landry for 4years/$8m, that's a pretty good deal. If he develops into ZBo caliber player over that time, we've got a legit big 3 in him, Davis, and Gordon.

Exactly. Im not saying im all in on drafting Sullinger, but I think some people are a little unrealistic in their expectations for the 10th pick.

To get a guy as skilled as Sullinger, at 10, is rare. He would've gone much higher had he come out last year.

Tristan Thompson went 4th last year. Sullinger's a better pospect, imo. Bismack Biyombo went 7th last year, come on...

If we can get a big man with a true post game, that also rebounds, with the 10th pick, take him and be thankful.

No player at 10 is a sure thing. I think Sullinger has as many questions as any other player at that spot.

I think the fact that the NBA has a ton of below the rim players succeeding right now tells me he isn't as fricked as people say.

Yes, I would.

We've got other needs that can be filled and a huge glut of bigs who will be getting minutes, short of moving Ayon, Smith, or Oak.

Move Ayon or Smith in exchange for a good player or a 1st of some kind and I could live with Sullinger.

We still have a lot of roster spots tied up in them and, in the case of Oak, a shite-ton of money.

If we get Sullinger, we need to move someone else or there won't be enough minutes to go around.

This

I think people have fallen in love with our guys because they played hard last year, and are discounting the fact that we sucked.

None of those guys, outside of Gordon, are irreplaceable

Ayon and Smiht look like pretty solid players, though. Both actually had PERs right behind Randolph, Favors and Taj Gibson last season. I'd be cool with Sullinger because I think he would be a really good compliment next to Davis a few years from now, and if they think he's the best player available, go for it, but I think starting SF and a scoring wing off the bench are the biggest needs right now.

Dont want Sullinger, an OSU fan (on here) said we should stay away from him @ 10. When fans/students like that, that know more about the guy than the general public say to stay away.. you have to consider they probably know what they're talking about.

the Jarrett Jack love fest on this board is out of control. He's an untouchable piece in a lot of peoples minds.

Nevermind the fact that he is 29 coming off of a career year with a GREAT contract for his production. His value will never be any higher.

If you et a player who helps out with 10th pick you did well not an area of the draft where you ever have a sure thing typically by that point you are maybe 50/50 with players who really help out and those who are journey men or out of the league in a few years

With Ayon, Oak, Smith, Davis and Landry, aren't we pretty crowded at PF and C? Why would we take another big at 10?

I like JJ and Vasquez as much as the next guy, but Rivers and Lilliard could turn out to be top notch scorers and/or valued assets at the guard position(s), especially with potential injury issues with Gordon.

Oak won't be here 2 years from now (maybe sooner), and none of them have the offensive skill set that Sullinger has. And Lillard has already been picked in the mock.

I was making my statement under the assumption both would be there.

I'm just saying if Gordon's injury bug pokes its head up again, our front court is in serious trouble . I just think our guard positions are more of a need than our PF and C positions (after the Davis pick).

I'm going to keep banging the drum for J. Taylor. I don't care if he is a reach. He is going to be a solid pro from the jump and would be a great compliment to Gordan and Davis. Taylor is on the rise..

Not really. Most fans are usually either gigantic homers or gigantic haters of their own players. Also if you're just taking one guy's opinion how hard would it be to find one guy on the rant that says to trade the #10 pick for Tyrus Thomas or something retarded like that.
