The only way we keep our pick is if Demps gets fired before he can trade it. He has traded every 1st or player he picked with a 1st since he drafted AD and I don't see why he would stop now.

for Monroe and a 1st.....that's a good deal for the Bucks.

in the spring, they can go Bledsoe/Brogdon/Middleton/Parker/Giannis to close games

Yea that's crazy I can't believe the suns could not get a better deal then that for Bledsoe. I know not a lot of teams needed a pg but damn a first and an expiring contract great for the bucks.

MM's been throwing around Asik/Ajinca/Dante/1st for Monroe. That has to wait until December 15th because of Dante but I'd be ok with that. If Monroe works out you see what kind of hometown discount he gives you. If he doesn't work out a 1st to dump Asik/Ajinca seems like a good deal.

It sounds like we may have been the ones that blew up the Bledsoe to Detroit deal meaning Phoenix was ok with Asik/Ajinca for a 1st.

And not a lottery pick either. However, it meets their goal of not taking on additional salary.

Team needs another big that can actually play, then you get to shed the Ajinca/Asik deals? Would be a no brainer for me personally

100% this. Boogie and AD aren't going to make it past Christmas playing 38 minutes per game.

Giving up another 1st for another big is painful especially for a 4 month rental. I know Dell is solely focused on this season (as usual), but at some point in the very near future we are going to need to hti on some in-house talent.

The problem is that most teams are still figuring out what they are going to do this season. Very few are outright accepting a tank and dumping assets. Not many want to take on salary either.

If there is no chance of an ASik medical retirement, then it would be nice to trade for a lesser talent/good fit that provides some cost control for the future.

RIP to hopes of Bledsoe as a Pel. What we should learn from the trade: Expiring contracts and 1st round picks are very valuable. A lottery pick isn't necessary to aquire a quality starter. I puked in my mouth a little when it was suggested that a low first round pick could only get us someone like Belinelli.

PHX does not want to take on salary. Not many teams that want Monroe can take on his salary without giving long term salary back. Monroe is going to be upset with this trade and will not want to play for PHX. HE chose MIL over the Knicks because he liked thefuture and wanted to be on a playoff team.

I am sure PHX is going to pursue all trades, but there is a definite chance there is no market for Monroe and they buy him out to save a little cash.

The protections on that pick are insane. At this rate, PHX will get a mid 20s pick in 2020 and Monroe for Bledsoe.

Yeah, that 2020 8-30 protections seems moronic on the Suns part. Why not just extend the 2018-2019 range? I have heard speculation that since they have so many young players to develop now, the Suns place more value on picks 2-3 years out.

Maybe the Suns buyout Monroe and he signs with his hometown team.
