Willy Hernangómez to Spanish newspaper @MARCA: “My Eurobasket MVP had little echo in New Orleans. On the other hand, in other teams, I have felt much more recognized, with congratulations, with expressions of affection from players and coaches. So I'm a little upset”

quote:

“I didn’t expect this situation of not having minutes, but the season is long and in the next month there will be a lot of movements and I’m ready to whatever can happen” he said about the trade market.

Damn, I knew winning that Euroleague MVP would go to his head

And, to be honest, Jonas has not played as well this season as he did last year, our offense has looked better with Billy on the floor, neither of them can play defense, and Billy is not that big of a step down in rebounding.

He should be getting more minutes.

Kind of glad he's asking out to be honest. We needed to make a move for a viable 3rd big going into the playoffs. Hopefully now we can get one that can defend reliably.

We could probably trade him straight-up for Daniel Gafford, who could be the rim protector we lack. Gafford's extension kicks in next season, and he's not worth what he'll make, but that's also why the Wizards will make that deal with us.

Pretty sure Gafford makes way too much than we'll want to spend on our 3rd big.

Honestly, Billy’s biggest contribution since being here was team vibes and camaraderie, if he’s not bringing that anymore, and is actively feeling a bit miffed, we should move on first opportunity.

I like Billy, but he’s vastly overvaluing himself. He’s at best a spot starter on a tanking team and not much more than what he currently is on good ones.

He can’t switch, is not a rim protector, and not skilled enough offensively to anchor a team.

$2.4m doesn’t get us much salary-wise. That MIGHT get us a pick of some kind and open a roster spot to convert a 2 way player or sign someone who gets cut after a trade.

No, he should be packaged in a trade.

Can be, but we have to have someone else going out of significance.

Would be Graham as of now since Jax is having to play the four while Zion is out and Temple is effectively an assistant coachz

He simply can’t play defense.

He is much more subdued on the bench tonight. Typically he is the first one off the bench to celebrate with teammates. Not so much tonight.

Unfortunately it comes with having a deep team, everyone in the NBA thinks they should get minutes, and you can only keep them happy for so long.

I’m not sure who needs a big in the league though, maybe GS?

Jonas dominated in 2 of the last 3 games. I can’t see Billy ever affecting a game like Jonas did in those, which we really needed with 3 starters out. Billy is serviceable, but there is quite a large drop off between those 2 IMO.

LOL this post just got worse after Jonas went beast mode, and even with Val being a monster on offensive end he still was targeted defensively so imagine Billy playing who is no where near as good a Val on offense. There is match up where we need Billy especially when Larry is out but dude should be happy to be in the league playing on a winning team but sounds like he wants to be on a loser and just get his.
