That's kind of his thing, and as long as we prioritize iso ball that is what we will get, for better or worse.

Ball movement wasn’t great

I actually thought in the second half we did one of the better jobs of passing the ball as we have done in a long time.

Wait, you're arguing he wasn't awful?

Pretty sure you're legit the 1st and only person I've seen on Pels Talk this entire season to say he was anything but pretty darn terrible earlier in the season.

You’re good at being the loudest in the room and moving goal post.

Jaxson has played a cumulative of 500 minutes throughout this NBA season but it’s been clear he was intentionally not apart of the game plan on most nights.

So all this opportunity you speak of is fabricated through number manipulation. Talk basketball to me bro, not statistics.

Jax is fool's gold. He does this every two months or so and we start questioning why he doesn't play.

Then he has 2-3 more ok games with each one being less effective than the previous until he becomes unplayable again.

We've seen this so many times.

I didn't get to watch the game so I went back and checked the highlights..

From the comments here, it sounded like we were moving the ball, setting screens, getting open looks, etc..

They must have left that off the highlight reel because it looked like the same old shite.. BI and CJ dribbling into 3 guys in the paint while the rest of the team stands still at the three point line.. and it took BI making some ridiculous mid-range shots for us to pull out the win

Even on our highlight reel it looks like our offensive possessions are so difficult

No he really hasn’t been awful, he makes bone headed plays for sure, but also has provides a perimeter big who can move his feet, shot blocking, and rim-running with high percentage finishes that no other big has been giving the Pels all season.

Ball movement was MUCH better. Don’t let the highlights fool you.

I said he was awful, you responded laughing at it. So by any rational logic, the assumption would be that you disagreed, so I asked you if you thought he wasn't awful. So WTF goalpost did I move? You're saying words you hear on the internet but don't know what they mean. The idea that you read those posts and think I moved a goalpost is hilarious and so far off, just a bad take.

How has Kira been this season in your opinion? Maybe I've missed it, but I've yet to see you post laughing emoticons at all the people saying Kira has played well and they'd like to see him get more minutes, are you being inconsistent here?

You're literally doing the exact same thing with the words you hear but don't know what they mean. But here's what is great, YOU have the opportunity to prove me wrong. Please show me where in my statement I manipuplated numbers or spoke 1 word about statistics. Your big chance to prove me wrong, go!!!

Here's the part where you disappear or better yet, you actually move the goalpost instead of just admitting you were wrong again and conceding I never brought up statistics so your argument was made up in your head. Let's see which one he chooses!

He's been bad and more importantly, the Pelicans have been really bad when he's on the court this season.

He certainly could be doing the thing he does every single year mid to late season where he improves, and if so, he can give us good minutes. But that doesn't change how bad he was and the team was during his minutes earlier in the season.

I showed you the flaw in your minutes played argument the other day… which is why I laughed.

My observations goes beyond just the post you were directly replying to in the moment… hence the need to always be the loudest in the room.

Maybe you should enlighten yourself on the characteristics of the straw man fallacy. I’m on this board frequently enough to notice them within a lot of your post.

No, you most certainly did not. All you said was he hasn't played enough to be able to argue he's been bad, which is laughable because 500 minutes is plenty enough, so not only did you not show the flaw in my argument, you made a really low IQ argument in reply.

And like that, I nailed it here:

you actually move the goalpost

Never fails. Enjoy your backtracking like you just did. I'll give you a 2nd chance, you mentioned statistics and numbers manipulation specifically that I'm doing with Jax...go ahead and post the examples.

How many of those minutes were accumulated on nights he played less than 15 minutes?

I’m not arguing this any further with you. I’m happy to see how the season plays out and if Jaxson is given a real opportunity I’m confident he’ll contribute.

All that other shite you talking is just noise.

You've yet to argue why a player can ONLY play poorly in those scenarios. Kira has done fine in a similar minutes role, so your argument makes zero sense whatsoever. There is zero reason why you can't play well in 15 minutes, it happens all the time.

I noticed you also ignored entirely the "numbers manipulation" thing. So now you've done BOTH things I said you would. First you moved the goalposts, now you won't even discuss. Funny how you did exactly what I said you'd do and didn't simply prove me wrong. Weird.

I’m not arguing this any further with you.
That's probably best for you, the next legit point you make would be your first. But again, this just speaks to you making arguments and saying I said shite I never said, and disappearing gives you the opportunity to just run from nonsense you spewed and can't back up.
quote:

All that other shite you talking is just noise.
Again, you've not given a single point to argue anything I've said. You've made shite up, been asked multiple times to show your work. But you literally can't.

THAT is the real reason why you don't want to argue any more, you got called on your shite, you can't back it up, so run away from it.

Good riddance. You're gonna have to do a shite ton better than making up lies when you reply to me, I will make you look foolish and slink away just like I'm doing here when you pull BS like that and make shite up and attribute it to me.

You have a very deluded perception of what you know if you’re having a hard time grasping why 500 minutes played 3/4ths into the season isn’t shite.

Looking at a per 36 for players receiving limited minutes never works out like imagined.

You keep trying to press me as if you exhibited irrefutable evidence like wtf lol

Dang Shel you’ve got to know your not always right and there are opportunities to be flexible in your views. Hayes, although prone to goofball plays hasn’t demonstrated he brings something to the table that Val, Billy, and Nance don't provide? Pels didn’t substantially improve last year when he was inserted into the lineup? He doesn’t finish at a substantially higher rate than the wings playing the 4 or 5? Doesn’t provide better perimeter defense than the Pels other bigs sans Nance maybe?

Truth is he’s stayed in Coach Green’s doghouse this season but has not played horrible when given the opportunity, particularly compared to the play of the Pels other bigs.

You're still lost. I pressed YOU to provide evidence of "numbers manipulation" which you are still unable to do.

There was nothing I needed to provide to you, you made a stupid claim. You got called on it, you're still replying to me which is weird considering how you can't back up your own assertion.

Saying a guy has played 500 minutes at this point in the season isn't "statistics" and "numbers manipulation" that is about the dumbest argument I've seen in a while

Sorry you made a bullshite claim and can't back it up. That part about not arguing with me any more...You also lied about that, but you should have stuck with it. You were made to foolish, take your lumps, stop replying like you said you would and move on. Unless you can actually back up your nonsensical "numbers manipulation" line, it's best for you to get quiet and move on.

I have nothing but confidence that you'll do better next time. This one just wasn't yours, but you'll get better. I'm sure of it.

One has to make an argument that proves one wrong or makes them reflect. You don't just get to say random words and think a point was proven.

I may not agree entirely with your premise, but you are at least providing logical arguments, where he did no such thing.

He said Jax was not horrible because he played 500 minutes, and he said I was manipulating numbers.

He failed to prove any of those things, so please explain what he said that should make me be flexible in my views?

quote:

Hayes, although prone to goofball plays hasn’t demonstrated he brings something to the table that Val, Billy, and Nance don't provide?
That's not the right question. He certainly does. The question is is he as good or has he deserved minutes over those guys. The answer is pretty obviously no.
quote:

Pels didn’t substantially improve last year when he was inserted into the lineup?
And this year? You don't earn minutes based on play last season, you have to build off of that and get better. Jax never does that. He does this every single year. He's bad 1st half of the season, and later in the season whether it's injuries or whatever that gets him minutes, then he shows signs. But you don't deserve to get more minutes when you play poorly in the minutes you do get...I have no idea why you and the other guy are arguing against that, that's how it goes in the NBA on borderline rotation dudes.
quote:

Truth is he’s stayed in Coach Green’s doghouse this season but has not played horrible when given the opportunity, particularly compared to the play of the Pels other bigs.

Hard disagree. He's been bad. The Pels, factually speaking, have been really bad this season when he's in as well. It's hard to justify more minutes when the minutes are not positive for a borderline rotation guy.
