And we won. In the past no way we win with BI having a bad game like that This is so encouraging that we have enough depth to still win

I see what you’re saying, but we played one of the bottom-tier squads in the league.. would prefer to see BI get it together this season

Like when he scored 40 last game?

We have a team full of options, when we are all healthy. It’s a good thing. The fact that BI could have one of his worst games of his careers and we still win with relative ease is a good thing.
Zion, BI, CJ, Trey, JV all can present a problem for a defense when they are on and have a good matchup.

JV saw he was struggling and understood this was his night to carry the squad and he did.

JV seems to give us a double double every night but it’s nice having a role player with the ability to be the #1 or 2 option when necessary.

Crewz is a jerk but he's always been right about Ingram. For every game like he gave you vs Washington, he has a clunker like last night.

That's what separates true stars from guys who are just good.

Ingram is in the Julius Randle, Kuzma, Jerami Grant range of NBA guys. Good numbers on paper but do they directly lead to wins?

This team goes as far as Zion, Herb and Trey can take them.

Nah. It was the plan from the get go. They had no one that could stop him.

JV is a luxury to have b/c outside of Embiid and Jokic, he’s the most skilled offensive center in the league and capable of having an offense flow through him. If you don’t have a big that can match up with him physically, he can wreck your defense.
I’m just glad the team is actually making a conscious effort to feed him in the post when he has a serious mismatch.

that may have been his worst game as a pelican. i could tell it was going to be a tough night for him when in the 1st quarter he bricked about 3 shots in a row from his spot where hes automatic. those nights happen, he'll be fine. it is encouraging that we won despite his bad game i agree

Your optimism is impressive. I still think we are a middle of pack team. Which is mind boggling given the “talent” on our roster.
A year ago at this time, we were in first place. Seems like light years ago

The offense can be very frustrating to watch. I don’t understand why we hired Borrego if we’re not going to run his offense. We’re bottom of the league in pace and three pointers, it doesn’t make any sense. I like Willie and I think he’s going to have a long coaching career in the nba, but I don’t think he’s a good enough coach to get us to the next level. We need to be pushing the ball more and playing with more tempo, I have no idea how Willie doesn’t see that.

Borrego has been a solid hire. You can see the offense has more movement and actions early in the clock.

We are bottom in the league in 3s because we have 4 starters that are not even average volume three point shooters for their positions. BI, Zion,
Jonas, and Herb just don't take enough 3s. At the moment, Zion shouldn't be shooting them and Jonas is only good for a couple of attempts per game.

The issue is BI and Herb. They both should at least be getting up 5-7 attempts per game

BI has been solid for the most part.

Plus he attracts double teams and creates opportunities.

If BI increased his attempts from 3 there would be nothing to complain about. Every time he doesn’t get up 7 in a game, Willie should make him run laps.

I realize that middies are not an efficient shot, but I genuinely love when he rises up over folks and takes them. So smooth.

yeah he was as doing that dribble the air out of the ball shite into a crowd of defenders thing last night quite a bit.

3 dribble or less, then pass or shoot BI is the only good BI.

End of the year/playoff Ingram is a monster. It's all I care about. If the Ingram from the Suns series/play ins is playing in April with Zion we're gonna wreck some teams.

Yes they do. We've had a winning record with Ingram in the lineup for the past 3 years, without Zion for most of it.

that’s true but two years ago we lose that game if BI has that stat line. We also played them at their place. Look at San Antonio beating the Lakers last night

Look I’m a huge critic of BI’s but he’s way better than those guys. And it’s not even close. BI is a star. He’s just not a superstar. His inconsistency is what keeps him from being amongst the greats in the game right now. He’s just very good, not great.

Yep. If they both got up 5-7 attempts from three a game and Zion/Trey rebounded consistently, we would be an absolute terror of a team. But as it stands we only get that 50% of the time from those guys

He just needs to stop forcing it and let the game come to him. The team is deep enough to allow that to happen now. It would prevent these types of games from happening.

Huge decision coming up for Pels regarding their future plans for BI.

Taking the gloves off:

He is a lousy "fit" for today's NBA. Would be considered VERY solid, the way the game was played maybe 10 or 15 years ago or so...but sadly for BI...things have changed.

I consider him to be a player with the dreaded "early ceiling" disease. He is already as good as he is ever gonna get. He is NOT gonna make major changes in his game at this stage in his career...even if he could. I've bad-mouthed him enough already, so I won't even bother talking about his defense.

Probably best for the Pels and BI to just move on their separate ways...and wish each other the best.

Of course, I COULD be wrong...and BI might take a huge leap & become a bargain...at whatever price the Pels (or some other team) will be paying him in the near future. I've been wrong before.
