of course it’s a great hotel lol.

The other 2 tho are considered either a resort (the one where the best teams are staying) or a 5 star hotel. Yacht club is a 4 star

It's not bad but it's on a wayyyy lower tier compared to the other 2.

Players won't be on the Boardwalk mixing with regular Disney folk.

Yacht Club has the best pool, Stormalong Bay, if it is open to players. It's also a convention hotel so useful for setting up weight rooms, meeting space, etc. Yachtsman Steakhouse is nice too, but their meals will be way different than what regular guests experience anyway.

I have reservations next door at Beach Club Villas the first week of August but might not move to another resort if unable to use the main pool. Rooms around $256/night in the right places.

Hope they allow them to stay there once they secure the playoff seed.

Yacht Club shares Stormalong Bay with Beach Club. The Beach Club will have DVC members occupying rooms starting in July. No way the NBA gets to use that pool.

I think the pool is supposed to be closed to visitors when it first opens back up.

The main pool area is scheduled to be closed when the resort opens. There are 2 smaller, “quiet” pools on grounds and Beach and Yacht club guests will have access to the big pool at Boardwalk Resort just a few minute walk away.

This is correct, but it's worded as closed "during initial reopening period" and that is undefined. It's likely only closed as long as the Beach Club hotel is closed and that could open as soon as parks on July 11 or could be longer.

But I don't see a bunch of guys scrapping for playoff lives spending much pool time when they can be watching film, working out, etc. Yacht Club has at least one dedicated separate pool that'd work separate than Stormalong Bay. Players could hit that up and leave the main pool to guests. For comparison, the main pool at Grand Floridian is expected to remain open for other guests.

Didn't expect my Disney and sports lives to overlap so much.

I’ve got to say, I’m surprised by the depth of knowledge about Disney resorts on this board. This thread reads like a travel brochure.

Better watch out for the gators in the adjacent lake though. People have been eaten.
