Yea he's definitely speaking with his usual matter of factness as if he knew all along today was not THE meeting, when he clearly thought it was THE meeting a couple hours ago.

McNamara said today wasn’t the actual meeting, it was a “touch base session.”

Actual meeting is sometime this week, most likely mid to late parts.

Gayle has already reached out to Davis and his family. I am not sure how long ago but it couldn’t have been too long.

I was wondering why it wasn’t leaked that she would be at the upcoming meeting and this may be why. However, I still see her being there, possibly..

The meeting is about how they can best handle the situation. Not necessarily convincing Davis to stay, but more so, asking him to not “leak” certain info that can get the Pels. the best deal. In the Dell era, Clutch would have laughed. But this time it’s different.

Also, if Zion chooses Clutch this week, expect to have the meeting the day before or after. This will help improve the image of Clutch after minute details of the Davis meeting comes out. I think a lot of people are being optimistic..but just be prepared.
There is a small chance for a change of heart however, none of that is new talk.

I said it in another thread, I think Zion signing with Klutch is the only way AD staying happens. Klutch then has a reason to sell AD on staying.

Unbelievable how much of a pushover AD is if that were to be the case.

It wouldn't be him being a pushover, it'd be Klutch being able to sell that he could ride Zion's coattails to more endorsements as easy as LeBron's. And unlike LeBron, Zion will be around for a while, he could be part of a dynasty in NOLA. I don't think the sales job would be that hard, but right now Klutch has no reason to advise their client that NOLA presents a better opportunity than New York or Los Angeles.

I get it, but the pushover is because he's able to be sold only when Klutch is the representative to Zion and AD couldn't foresee these same things if Zion were to have different representation...?

paul & harden have different agents, they appear in those stupid state farm commercials together, so it is possible.

but i agree with ATL, if you want davis to stay you want zion signing with klutch. read the ESPN article i posted in the other thread about how klutch does business...

i know we want AD to stay but at what cost?

At the cost of Zion signing with Klutch and presenting the organization with possible long term dysfunction with how they do business?

Although I want AD to stay, I am hoping that Zion stays far away from Klutch. That circus needs to be gone from the NBA.

Zion would be locked into New Orleans for 7 years.

AD was in LA working out with Jrue. Unless Pels brass flew to LA, the meeting didn’t happen. LeBrons leash on AD will only allow him to go so far.
