That’s about 25 games. We get the Thunder 3 times, the Hornets, and the Suns in that span so I don’t know maybe we can be around .500.

I’ve decided that I’m not going to kill myself.

So what about the other 20 games?

Anyone who actually looked at our early season schedule knew .500 was going to be a challenge even with perfect health.

The injury obviously isn't good, but I think it will really give other guys a chance to step up. Let Ingram earn that contract, and Favors is supposed to be about as underrated as Jrue. I think with the depth and 3 point shooting it won't be nearly as bad as people think.

Why would you even say that? It's not a joke. If a basketball player getting hurt really makes you want to do that then you should look into some counseling. It's just basketball bro. Relax. 18002738355.

Sorry hendo.

I just get amused at the people who keep saying "we just need to survive and hang around .500 and we'll be good."

Truth is we got fricked by the league. Brand new team with only 2 of the starting 5 having played together before and the league hands us an unbelievable schedule to start. The vast majority of the teams we play early will end the season in the top 4 of their respective conference.

Everybody needs to remember that Zion is literally a miracle to be on this team. We still have all the pieces we would have had because of the Lakers trade. Plus Favors and Redick. And one of our picks is NAW which looks like lighting in bottle.

So everyone chill. (im mostly talking to myself)

Honestly I see this as an advantage

Run out at 8-17 with a ridiculously hard schedule

Zion comes back and go 35-22 the rest of the way, carrying a ton of positive momentum toward a possible playoff berth and into next year

That's my prediction

I'm here to say that I think in 25 games y'all are gonna look back and laugh at our pessimism.

Remember that Jrue, Julius Randle and a bunch of players currently playing overseas won games they should not have. This team goes 12 deep.

That team barely went 5 deep. Our second unit will win us games now. Wild.

How many teams are we gonna be equal or better on rest than? Pels are gonna run and when the other team gets tired AF, WE HAVE 5 MORE NBA QUALITY PLAYERS ON THE BENCH SONS.

Random game. March 2. We beat the Nuggets (healthy) with 8 players logging real minutes. Beat them by 8, on the road.

Chieck Diallo played 22 min.
Darius Miller played 28 min.
Kenrich Williams started and played 34 min.

No AD.

Y'all chill TF out. It's the NBA and our starting 4 for parts of last year is now our 12th man.

6 weeks is December 2nd, 8 weeks is December 16th.

If the estimate is correct, it looks like it'll be between 20-26 games.

I was listening to Lowe the other day and he made the point that Zion missing as many as
15 20 games was unlikely to affect win total by
a substantial amount, because of the talented overall
There also seemed to be a consensus among those in the discussion that “win total” Should not be a focus for the Pels this year, but they should be more concerned with the future. It’s a worthy discussion.

hh, I’m glad you’re going to remain among the living, but you need to re-gain some confidence.
Full disclosure: ive been worried that many of us had unrealistic expectation for THIS season. If we play well and can keep things interesting, that’s pretty successful for a newly assembled young roster. If we are even sniffing the possibility of the 8th seed, that would be remarkable. I’m beginning to believe that the roster assets we got from L. A. are more valuable than I first thought (I was skeptical and admittedly not that familiar with ea h of their games).
Point is, don’t worry, be happy. There’s a fun season ahead even though there will be some frustration ( that’s unavoidable). Kumbaya, Mf’ s.

Good for you. I haven't made any decision yet on that, still weighing all options.

If the Pelicans can’t manage while he’s out, that pretty much means this roster isn’t good at all in the first place. I agree that the win total doesn’t change much at all with Zion out. What Zion brings to the table is the possibility of exceeding those win totals. The team should be good enough to compete night in and night out. Closing games and maintaining leads were the issues last season. This roster should have the ability to do both with the makeup of the roster.
