Well, probably would help not turning the ball over on 80 of our possessions to start the fourth then they just straight up quit.

“Pack the paint” was a thing last season.

This season it’s epic fail.... even the good defensive teams have abandoned it.

Would have been nice to stagger our starters more.

fricking bull shite if you don’t blame coaching. He took his own team out of rhythm.

Our scrubs got 5 of those in the final 2 minutes. It's somehow worse than 41-12.

Is that bad? It seems like it's pretty bad.

And 5 of those were in the last minute with all backups. So we actually scored 7 “meaningful” points in the 4th.

For sure. I think they turned the ball over on 8 or more possessions to let the Suns right back into the game and take the lead. I turned the game off as soon as Crowder hit the three to take the lead because I knew what was to come.

What will it take? Tonight, what it would have taken is someone staying in front of CP3. There were about 5 times in the 4th that he crossed someone up, got he floor out of balance, and then we were in scramble mode as they found wide-open guys to shoot 3s.

But the turnovers were also just killer, as they led to easy fast-break points.

-29 in the 4th after winning the first 3 quarters by 11.

Every game there is some type of “low light” first. Some team, some player, some stat, something happening that’s never happened.

The Pelicans carried an 11-point lead into the fourth quarter, and their offense was humming to the tune of 102 points in the first 36 minutes. But games are 48 minutes long. And the final 12 were certainly ones the Pelicans would like to soon forget.

The lead evaporated in four minutes. Then, not even four minutes later, the Suns were up double digits. When the final horn sounded, the Suns joyously walked off the court with a 132-114 win, while the Pelicans headed to their locker room in a daze, trying to figure out what just transpired.

According to research by the Elias Sports Bureau, the 18-point defeat was the largest in the NBA in the shot-clock era (since 1954-55) for a team that entered the fourth quarter up double digits.

Don’t worry though. Stan said it happens to everyone

Van Gundy said he doesn't think his team's issue is age. "A lot of teams in this league have quarters like that," Van Gundy said. "I'll never throw the young card out there. We're a basketball team with really talented people, and we didn't get the job done in the fourth quarter."

The Pelicans only seem to have quarters like that once every 7 or so games. 41-12 4th quarter against the Suns. 40-14 3rd quarter against the Bulls. 48-22 2nd quarter against the Rockets. Outscored 69-32 in the 2nd and 3rd quarters in December against the Suns. For Stan to act as if it's just a bad quarter that happens every so often is frightening. Quit packing the paint, get away from teams draining 25 three point attempts a game, and don't then the ball over on 10-12 straight possessions in the 4th quarter, or any quarter for that matter. If it happens 4 or more possessions in a row, call a timeout. Or just keep allowing it to happen and act like it's going to happen every once in a while.

CP last night, like Oladipo, LaVine, Fox, and Dame get anything they want on the court come winning time. No one on our roster has the tools to even come close to what Jrue provided and it’s not something you can scheme away. Griff and Langdon need to address this.

Doesn’t let Zion, BI, and Zo off the hook, they need to be better defensively also. The teams offensive lulls coincide with crappy defense.
