I get Houston wants to win but VanVleet alone won't do it.

think they’re gonna get some other guys as well. They’ll be a better team this season. Just don’t know how much better

Is this the most for an undrafted player?

Houston fans have to be hating life right now. From maybe Wemby to some mediocre g league guy to the overpay of the century

Reddish is poo and it's going to be really annoying when he hits a 3 and Lakers/Lebron dumbasses act like he's finally turned it on. He's a shooter that couldn't shoot in high school, EYBL, college, and now the NBA.

Houston will be sneaky next year w Vanfleet, improving Green, Improving Sengun, Improving Jabari Smith Jr, Improving Tari Eason, Cam Whitmore, Amen Thompson, Etc

By the time Vanfleet’s deal expires they will know what they have with the other guys and whether or not they should pay to keep them long term.

I like the move for Houston. Vanfleet also isn’t nearly as ball hoggy as Harden, so it still allows Sengun and Green to run the offense and develop into all they can be.

I’m not really high on any of those guys outside Sengun.

If all those “what if’s” happen, then I agree. But can you imagine the Pelicans, when “what if” Zion and Ingram play 75 games each, Trey makes an even bigger improvement in year 3, Herb is a 35% 3 point shooter, etc…..?

their whole team is on rookie contracts. They have to give the money to somebody, and they need major minutes for their young guys. Giving the money to one player (a very good player) is the smart move

I just saw that they are going after Lopez and Brooks too. They are going to have to dump some of that youth to fit the new players..

When I say sneaky this year, I more mean pain in the arse rather than playoff contender.

They had a lot of cap space to use. It’s technically an overpay but I understand it based on their situation and Vanfleet’s play style.

I think I’m pretty high on Sengun/Green’s future 2 man game. I think it could be a variation of Sabonis/Fox 2 man game. Just needs to be 100% leaned into and explored.

Jabari showed a pulse late last year. Tari is an awesome role player. We will see about Amen, Whitmore, etc.

If I was a Houston fan, I’d be optimistic about what things could look like in 3 years if you get the right development out of the right guys.

Heat are trading Oladipo to OKC. That’s a shocker

They are overpaying because of how low their payroll is. New cba stipulated that you MUST spend 90% of the cap each year. We need them to go get Lopez because the Bucks will have no way to replace him and that can start the unraveling of the Bucks. Him and possibly Middleton gone plus rumors of Jrue retiring after his contract will make Giannis leave and those picks/pick swaps suprisingly valueabke
