Even if they trade Westbrook and a couple of firsts for some guys, as long as it’s not Lilliard I don’t see anyone that can help get them over the hump. They looked fricking awful.

One of the things about the Lakers when they are good is that the games are where all the celebrities want to see each other and be seen. Jack Nicholson always sitting courtside is one of the first things that comes to my mind about the Lakers.

Last night, Flea tweeted:

quote:

The lakers really look terrible and it makes my heart sink

The responses to his tweet are great -- just an awesome pre-melt going on right now from Lakers fans. Here's a selection:

quote:

Yupp!! What was Jeanie thinking of giving Rob an extension for this ?? team. Team of guards and no length on the wings and bunch of brick ballers

quote:

Flea, if you’re hopeless about the Lakers of all people, how can any of us be hopeful?

quote:

The Clippers always welcome new fans.

quote:

Yes Flea. That is all of Laker Nation. [broken heart emoji]

quote:

We got through last year to end up here [sick face emoji]

quote:

Russell Westbrook is a lazy rain, forever waiting for his black summer to end.

quote:

your new record rules, though!

quote:

Hopefully in about 6 or 7 years the Lakers can be good again. It's going to be a rough rest of the decade for us Lakers fans.

quote:

Yeah, its pretty tough to watch. This season is going to be rough, my friend

quote:

Gonna be another long season and I’m already upset by it

quote:

I am visiting from Costa Rica and contemplated getting tickets to see them, glad I didnt pay the 350 USD now

quote:

It’s over lakers need to give up AD and Lebron and get some picks while they can. It’s just going to get worse and worse. Especially waiting for that 2027 first round pick

quote:

We actually suck I’m sick

quote:

Let them know flea. They won't listen to us, but you at least have their ear.

quote:

Please tell @JeanieBuss to sell the team

quote:

Maybe if we pay them more money they will play better!

quote:

I am guessing you don’t ever want to feel like you did today ?

quote:

Caruso had the good weed

quote:

schroder and russ are injured we're pretty fricked

quote:

You’ll never know the joy every other nba fan feels when the l*kers lose.

quote:

It's LeBron let's face it, bad energy ever since he came and I was always all about it! He controls Jeanie to much!!

quote:

Flea, we are looking at another disaster of a season and Pelinka was extended

quote:

Fire Vogel

quote:

Another bad season, this must change I can’t take this shite anymore

LeGM

reminder:
the Russ trade (which he pushed for) cost them all of their depth in KCP, harrell and kuzma

Never 4get that Pelinka gave us one of the biggest hauls ever, competing against only himself

Cheers Rob. Your obligations to us could last until 2025

He was competing against time, lebabys time. Plus the Celtics supposedly made Tatum or Brown available, but not both. We had options and he had no choice.

the laker picks and picks swaps are way better than the Celtics picks pels would have got.

Davis for Tatum and picks.
I would rather have just tatum than ingram and all the other players.

Fwiw the Celtics 1.30th pick pels would have got turned into Bane.
memphis bought that 30th for 2nds and a little money.
as recent history demonstrates getting the lakers 1.4 is not necessarily better than getting the celtic-Memphis 1.30.
I'd rather be looking at a Tatum led pels with the other four starters zion, jv, herb and cj. for instant offense 6th man bane off the bench, pretending pels use 1.30 on bane.
like a time traveler, once you change the least thing other changes follow.
instead of a first for graham give that first and some bench guy to Portland for cj.

From what I recall, they did not make Tatum available at all.

Ingram and Tatum are a lot closer than you think buddy.

That is not going to be a pretty stretch for them.

Those two games against Utah just after playing us will be a relief for them.

From Marc Stein's bold predictions for the year:

quote:

The Lakers are going to miss the playoffs again.

They might win more than 33 games, but LeBron James and Co. objectively start the season as no better than the West's ninth-best team until proven otherwise.

ill be surprised if the Lakers win 3 of those.
and take note sunshine jumpers, those teams are the pels schedule too.
excellent teams.
every game an adventure.
there's not even consensus on which teams are the top 2 in the west.
this one wants to finish high. this one just wants to be healthy for playoffs.

lakers won't tank because the pels own the swap.
still wonderful to contemplate them pouting.

I see Westbrook has a hamstring.
they are stuck.
makes over $450,000 a game and not even on the floor.
