There are 10 playoff level teams in the West, IMO.

In no order:

Warriors
Wolves
Clippers
Nuggets
Pelicans
Suns
Mavs
Blazers
Grizzlies
Lakers

The only team outside of those 10 that I could see actually trying to win is the Kings, but I don't think they have enough.

In LEBRON rating for last year, LeBron finished #14, Davis was at #30, and Kyrie was #39.

In total RAPTOR, LeBron finished #12, Kyrie #18, and Davis at #50.

Reminder that both of these metrics attempt to measure impact in points per 100 possessions, so it's not affected by injuries or time off.

10. T-Wolves

Kings could definitely be the 2022-2023 version of the Pels or T-Wolves... very "play in sub .500" excitement...

Portland should be better, but West will be tough to navigate...this could be the year DAME goes mid season...

that was in no particular order either was just rattling off 10 West teams as well....

If Zion goes try hard and can stay healthy to make up his extra monies I can def see the Pels being a top 4 seed...

I would currently put them as 6-10...

Nuggets were a 3 seed last year while they had a lot of guys out due to injuries.

I don’t see them falling to 9th this season when they are getting people back unless Jokic goes down for a significant chunk of the season.

You would have the Jazz over the Blazers in their current forms?

Look at their starters/top rotation players:

Donovan Mitchell
Mike Conley
Bojan Bogdanovic
Jordan Clarkson
Malik Beasley
Patrick Beverley
Jarred Vanderbilt

Damian Lillard
Jerami Grant
Anfernee Simons
Jusuf Nurkic
Josh Hart
Gary Payton II

Maybe I'm crazy but I think the Blazers are much better on paper.

3. Grizzlies
4. Pels
5. Nuggets
6. Timberwolves
7. Suns
8. Mavs
9. Blazers
10. Kings? Jazz? Lakers?

Luka gets help at the trade deadline or next offseason. I’m low on Phoenix. They lost McGee and might lose Ayton too. Also I think some teams have figured them out defensively or have the backcourt talent to compete now.

I think the Jazz/Blazers/Nuggets/Mavs are all teams the "fluctuate" based off of roster health along with streaky play.... Pels will get into that same rotation....

I know both the Blazers losing CJ and Jazz losing Rudy... Nuggs losing Murray..... they should all continue to swing.....

There is definitely "levels" to it, but those teams have been steady on what they are and that is a good playoff team that will not contend for a title.

Frustrating to watch and see... but even at their best they are not "THAT TEAM"...

Maybe the Jazz still add Ayton or Turner, but they lost their defense. There's really no other way to put it, Oneal and Gobert were the only thing keeping them from being the Kings.

The Jazz feel like a team that will blow it up at the deadline.

Yep...new system in Utah..

Frustrations for D-Mitch.... similar to DAME

Those are 2 stars to look out for that could get shipped to NY?

You are correct, but they only won that title because they had a months long break just as AD and lebron were breaking down.

Covid never happens, neither does that Mickey Mouse ring….

We beat that arse with Lebron and AD on the court with no Zion. They will be even older, while all of our young guns will be better….

Don’t group us with them then because we are gonna contend. The pieces are here.

We need to address the back up C spot by moving a combination or all three of Graham, Jax, and Temple.

We free up the roster space for our rookies and any defensive minded C and we are competing.

I think it’s great to be in that grouping… shows where you are as a franchise and where you “can go”…

I’ve gone on record here before… hope that they don’t rush the growth of the team… best to be patient with the process and I think it could really play out great if those guys mature correctly.

Yeah. I feel like Ainge will let Mitchell do his thing, basically showing ownership that he’s not that guy, before trading him at the deadline.

This - time to show us he wants to be here rather than just saying it. Play a full season, engage with teammates and become part of the great team culture that has been created here. And if he does that we'll be very formidable.

CJ is that GUY.... he will bring out the BEST in all of his teammates.... they BUY in to what it takes...and BOOM....

I think Zion will go as far as he mentally allows himself... I don't think he has ever truly been challenged on the basketball court like some other guys have. He's either always been the biggest/strongest.

HS ball

DOOK ball

I'm ready to see him reach his potential.... I think he will be a "PRE PRIME" guy....similar to Blake Griffin where his HOPS and his body will have a WINDOW of opportunity... before he goes downhill... I just hope the PELS can tap into that.

So was looking on FanDuel at Western Conference Champs and they list the Lakers with the 4th best odds behind the Sun, Warriors, and Clippers.

They have the Pels with the 9th best odds (already have a future on it)
