Candace Parker was ranting (take her for whatever you like or dislike about her) along with Jamal Crawford last night on NBATV.

Pretty much saying because of his size (6'9) and his freakish athletic ability that no one really has ever been like he gets the raw end of it all because he isn't relatable because others cannot be like him or on his level.

Whereas Mike was 6'6 and athletic (regular NBA player size)

Kareem similar to LeBron where his abilities at his time period was not relatable because others weren't like him so therefor he gets a raw end of the GOAT talk as well...

Just sharing what they were chattering about.... and really what many NBA players understand.

Will be interesting to see how much longer it goes, as well as what the next chapter brings for him.... he's had many different variations of his career.

Los Angeles Lakers owner and president Jeanie Buss reportedly doesn’t support trading away future draft capital to help the Lakers contend this season.

“However, according to a Western Conference executive who spoke with Heavy On Sports’ Sean Deveney under the condition of anonymity, the Lakers are unlikely to trade away their future in order to improve the current iteration of their roster – a move which Jeanie Buss supports,” Heavy.com’s Adam Taylor wrote.

The Lakers have first-round picks in the 2027 and 2029 NBA drafts that they could use to make a deal, but it appears the team is unlikely to go that route, with Buss’ support.

LeBron passes Jabbar right around all-star break...then shuts it down for the rest of the season.

WEMBANYAMA...WELCOME TO NEW ORLEANS !!

PS: Although I'll still be VERY happy with Scoot or Brandon Miller

Their realistic approach is honestly, finish this season with LeBron breaking the record...

Season end: sit down and talk to LeBron & AD about expectations, understanding the realistic approach is gonna be shipping both off.

I can see AD going to the East (Boston, Chicago); LeBron going to GSW. Hit rebuild, call it a good era with a bubble ring and build for the future.

AD to Boston
LeBron to GSW

LAL Receive:
Robert Williams (BOS)
Malcolm Brogdon (BOS)
Grant Williams (BOS)
Jonathan Kuminga (GSW)
James Wiseman (GSW)
Jordan Poole (GSW)
Boston 2027 1st, 2029 1st, 2028 SWAP
GSW 2027 1st, 2029 1st, 2028 SWAP

If they maneuver it right, they can ship Poole + Brogdon somewhere else for more assets, they could very well enter the next phase of their era with a plethora of picks + top end youth talent they draft.

There was a bit of a dustup during the Rockets game:

quote:

“There was an interesting scene as the Lakers headed to the locker room at the end of the first half with the lead,” said Jared Greenberg. “Everybody pretty optimistic, happy with things. And then it was Russell Westbrook telling his coaches that they have to be better, repeatedly directing towards the Lakers coaching staff, ‘Ya’ll gotta be better than that.’ Phil Handy…and LeBron calming Russ down saying, ‘We all have to be better, Russ.’ That was Phil Handy’s words to Russ.”

“They have come this far without trading the two picks (in 2027 and 2029) away, and it is going to be very hard to move Westbrook without putting one of those picks into the deal. You’ve got a lot of the organization saying, ‘We should trade picks and win now,’ but some in the organization are saying, ‘Do not sell out the future.’ And Jeanie Buss is with the second group, and that is what matters most,” The executive said

The good news is if the Lakers aren't putting their picks on the table then that takes some of the pressure off of buyers, not to mention the Lakers are unlikely to find a helpful trade.

The bad news is prices are still crazy. I saw this morning the Spurs want 2 1sts for Poetl. We're definitely going to have to do a Dell Demps my trash for your trash type of trade.

Blame Ainge.

Getting what he did for Gobert and Mitchell, then putting up a respectable on court performance afterward, has teams wanting a deal like he got in order to move their players.

you propose trading lebron to gsw for 3 young players and 2 #1s. to be clear, only one of the players Poole would expect big minutes in playoffs. the other two are not ready for prime time although their bodies are special.
on the other hand the aging star.

i bet the warriors would not do your deal.
lebron may not ever play 60 games again. hes old and showing it.
even if he held up all season trading the yoing rotation guys leaves you with calling up minor leaguers. no bench.
like los angeles now.
no thanks. lol.
you can have
green (expiring!) for lebron
you get 1 first 2023
and one pick swap next time los angeles controls a pick. 27?
if swap not exercised one 2nd round pick 27.

Another 30+ night from LeBron, another L for the Lakers

Yet they are 2 games back of the 6 seed?

The West is a shite show...the whole league really is, I mean Sacramento is the "3 seed" right now

Its pretty wild.

A team like the Lakers could go on a 5 game win streak and be in the playoffs

Nah, they could get in the play in with a 5 game win streak, but they wouldn't get to the 6 seed.

Not just a playoff team but a mid seed... seriously a joke.

I don't believe in alot of these "injuries" that are popping up on these guys.... I think alot of it is management and players seeing how not important season games are and value the playoffs etc more, along with future years... It's quite sad because you end up getting such a poor product and you can't really get a grasp of what teams actually could be.

The Celtics are like the only healthy team this year so therefore they are out front of the league....

SO many "what ifs" and "when this player gets back"....

As a casual fan that goes with the wind, you won't get that fan's attention and will continue to lose fans because they don't want to stick around for "wake me up when its May" situation.... makes all of the games between October-April meh

If I were a betting man, I'd take the Grizz -7 tonight vs the Lakers. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if LeBron decides to sit this one out and to be honest, I think the Grizz will beat then by more than 7 EVEN IF...LeBron plays tonight...and I think LeBron knows this. Could see this line moving up to double digits when/if LeBron decides to sit.

Of course, this is JMO...I COULD be wrong. But the only thing that gives me pause...is the fact this game will on ESPN, which might lead to LeBron showing up & playing hard...at least on the offensive end of the court.
