Collins is in the 1st year of a 5/125 deal.

He should fit nicely with both of them if you would want to run out a 3 big lineup like Cleveland has been doing, he's hitting 41% from 3 and averaging over a block a game.

That's revisionist history.

Garland/Hunter/Culver were all squarely in the mix at 4.

But yes, we'd obviously be in much better shape if we had taken Garland.

Guess I missed that. That's still a big deal for a 3rd big.

Super, still, no thanks.

I am not giving up multiple 1st round draft picks for anything but a lead Guard at this point. It just doesn't make sense, unless Zion or Jonas are going out somewhere else for a variety of reasons.

You have to balance money and allocation of resources.

That’s not true. Maybe on this board. Majority of experts had them ranked just like you stated, with Garland at 4, Hunter at 5 and Culver at 6.

I wouldn't give up multiple picks for him, but I would do Sato, NAW, Temple and a 1st.

Still leaves plenty of draft capital to get that lead guard, but salary would be the hurdle, unless you find one that fits in the TPE (like Murray)

That works because of the defensive versatility of Mobley. Collins, Zion, and Val aren’t on that level.

Atlanta has tried playing Collins at the 5 for stretches every year and it just hasn’t worked. Though Collins has been better on D this year, Im not sure I want bank on Collins or Zion figuring out how to play the 5

Sam just wants all the 1sts

If he pulls a first for him that will be yet another first added to the Steven Adams trade ledger lol.

Sure, why not. Kenrich was simply a throw in by Griffin because he was so infatuated with a dinosaur big in Adams. Are there may PBOs that are worse than Griffin?

“...The destination most often linked to McCollum has been New Orleans, who could sensibly deal Jonas Valanciunas and Josh Hart. That would give the Blazers a center replacement for Nurkic, a strong veteran contributor in Hart and sneak Portland under the tax. It would seem the Pelicans would be more willing to part with Tomas Satoranksy and Jaxson Hayes over Valanciunas, however. “

This is the most absurd report. We “sensibly” could trade Jonas and Hart, two really good players on great deals. But we want to trade Sato and Hayes? Lol. The canyon between these two comments is mind breaking. Yeah, and the Blazers could “sensibly” trade us Damian Lillard. We aren’t trading Jonas for CJ. Come on now.

This thread doesn't need to turn into yet another bash griff thread.

It's been a good thread

And you don't need to come in virtue signaling and tone policing every time someone makes a simple offhand comment that isn't groveling at his feet.

Or, are we going to be consistent and also demand Griffin supporters refrain from any supportive comments as well?

That would be nowhere near value for Collins.

So back on topic, would you rather trade for CJ:

Sato, Hayes and Hart or

Sato, Hayes, Graham and a first?

That's probably the starting point for each team, then they'd meet somewhere in the middle.

Yeah, it wouldn't net him, but I'm not sure I'd give up anything more. I would take Bogi back from them, but his salary is to high to slide into the TPE so it would be hard to work.

I'd prefer to move Sato/Hayes/Hart
