Lonzo signed and traded on a new 4/90 contract, with Brogdon, Lamb, and Warren all coming back is legal and would really free up some room for Indy to bring McDermott back and do some other things.

Pels would maintain Hart's rights and have full MLE as well

Warren and Lamb are both expirings and useful players if healthy, so gives us flexibility on the court as well as in other moves, and next offseason.

I'd want to add another Big and another Ball handler with the limited funds left

That probably won't happen. A team is better off letting someone shoot a wide open 3 than letting Zion get a 1 on 1 at the rim.

The Pelicans were 25/30 in 3pt percentage. If they were in the top 15 or so, it would surely help spacing in the lane. At this point all the big has to do on a screen is back up to the lane and not worry about challenging the ball handler at all.

I'm not saying we get 2 40% shooters and all of the sudden and the lane parts like the red sea. Teams just had zero incentive to guard the perimeter last year, there wasn't even a second thought. A single hesitation is all Zion needs to turn a contested layup into a dunk.

Even if it only marginally improved spacing, if players are knocking down 3s at a high rate instead of clanking them, we are winning more games, period.

Fair point

Just pointing out I think it will help Zion a bit less and the shooters a bit more.

We don't exactly know when it happened, but if you recall Griff made Zion's injury a big piece of news and blamed the accumulation of Zion getting hit on his drives as the result.

From Crewz (I know I know)

A Josh Hart sign and trade to Sacto has been discussed. Buddy, Barnes, and Bagley have all been thrown around as names coming back or to a 3rd team

I think Barnes and Buddy both fill a bigger need than Hart.

I like Hart's energy, but I don't really want to spend more on him than Naji, Murphy, and Didi combined, when they can fill a similar role.

I'm ok with using Hart to get other pieces.

Not to mention Herb Jones as well.

I would love to have Buddy on this team. He would feast on Zion collapsing defenses.

If Hart was a better shooter, he'd be perfect.

But as it is, he's a just very good rebounder and at pushing the ball up the floor.

Naji kind of does a lot of the same stuff.

Conservatively, Naji can be ~75% of Hart, but is much cheaper than that.

I don't think you pay role players like Hart, unless you are a team that is already contending and you need to spend money for the sake of continuity. Where we are, we need to be spending money on players with more upside than what Hart offers.

Probably just posturing from his agent. Who knows though.

The possibility was first reported by The Athletic.Tomas Satoransky, Lonzo Ball, and DeVonte Graham are among names who have come up, per SNY sources. The possibility of a Bulls-Pelicans deal without the Hornets that would send Ball to the Bulls and Satoransky to the Pelicans has also been under consideration.

Then Chicago better get to cutting some salary to give him an offer sheet.

Yeah, Chicago figuring out a way to do it and just telling us "Match" seems like the worst scenario for both teams.

A S&T is the only thing that really makes sense for everyone.

Would be disappointed if we are only getting Satoransky back. Would hope to at least get a protected future 1st or White in the deal.
