At a minimum. He's going to be re-evaluated in 4 weeks.

Unfortunately for us it really feels like the league could be on the brink of shutting it down for a few weeks to cool off COVID.
Yeah, the ability of LeBron and AD to rest up and get healthy before the bubble was the reason that they won a title. A shutdown would be bad for our odds of getting this pick.

I read something said league was thinking about letting teams sign replacement players to 10 day contracts and won't count against salary if they have a player on covid list. They are trying to not have to shut down.

Christmas is huge to the NBA. It's like the kickoff of the season so I bet they will try like hell not to shut it down in the next few weeks, but COVID seems to take down half the roster of any team that it hits. The Nets just caved on Kyrie coming back part time because they need the bodies and as soon as they announce it both Kyrie and KD go into COVID protocols.

The alternative to shutting down is just to modify the protocols, which is what the NFL is doing.
The NBA can just say that players who have been boosted do not need to be tested, and then they won't have all these players out in COVID protocol.

I'm reading a lot of garbage on Twitter from Lakers fans saying that Davis has played like crap this season anyway, so this is no big loss.
It's true that his numbers are lower this season, but that's more a function of the crummy players around him, especially when LeBron is not on the floor and Davis is asked to carry the offense. We know from his time here in New Orleans that he has to have the right players around him to be successful.
Those Lakers fans are ignoring the minutes that Davis plays, they are ignoring his usage and the burden that he takes off LeBron to always initiate the offense, and they are ignoring the fact that the Lakers are going to have to give more minutes to total scrubs as a result of this injury.
Finally, they are also ignoring the fact that this injury to Davis means that Westbrook is going to have to carry the offensive load when LeBron is off the floor, and that's a bad recipe.

You’re gonna leave off Klay Thompson for him? Really?

The Lakers stink, and I love it.

Lakers fall back to .500 and the trolling begins.

I wonder if Lebron James would consider demanding a trade back to Cleveland?! I mean the Cavs do have nice squad! Don’t mind me tho and Carry on...

Lebron demands certain players on his team, destroys a franchise, and moves on.

Lakers three game losing streak. Pelicans three game winning streak. CAN YOU DIG IT FLAP

Lakers aren't a good team. Westbrook and James can keep them around .500 though and moves are coming. Outside of Westbrook, the Laker guards went 4 for 33, 1 for 20 from 3pt. No team is winning when your guards are that bad.

I'm not sure about this, they don't have anything to trade. THT is their only salary piece, and they have very limited draft picks. I just don't see where they can make any move outside of the buyout market.

They would have to trade most of that squad away to get LeBron
I swear the NBA has completely jumped the shark with the players and pundits acting like these guys are in a perpetual state of free agency where they get to just pick and choose what team they are on

In b4 Wall to the Lakers

I'm sure that's where the moves will come. I dont think THT has that much value. But they could shop him.
I don't get the deal with Nunn. He hasn't played at all. His injury is lingering and he people are talking smack about him not contributing. I'd be interested if they shopped him. They need bigger wings, Temple and a 2nd for Nunn?
Posted on 12/22/21 at 9:38 am to brmark70816
I don't think Temple would get dealt unless we needed his salary for something big.
I believe Griff signed him trying to get someone from the hometown on the team to help guys buy in more and get the fan base a little more bought in.
Also, Temple hadn't exactly played bad, since he's been moved to a limited minute bench role he's been solid.

True. I was just trying to think of a salary that would match up while not giving the Lakers too much to improve. I doubt they would take Sato. Maybe Hayes and Marshall?
