The Spurs don't have an easy closing schedule either, though.

The Blazers at home should be an easy win, but their other games are:

@ DEN
@ MIN
GSW
@ DAL

Spurs have played better away tbh. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they won one of those games. Need to at least be the blazers next tho and hope the lakers lose to Denver.

If that happens, lakers would need to win 3/4 to get past the spurs if my shitty math is correct. And that’s if spurs lose out (after beating Portland for the final time)

And all 4 of those teams will know they can avoid any chance of having to play the Lakers in the playoffs by taking it easy on the Spurs. Maybe resting a few key players etc...

Not happening. All of those teams are fighting for playoff position. They aren’t thinking about the Lakers.

Not sure what fighting for playoff position means...but Dallas lost by 32 points to the Wizards tonight & Denver gave up 136 & lost to Minn.

Beat the Kings and Blazers and we should be good to go. May be able to steal one from GSW without Curry.

Also Minny beating Denver tonight wa a huge because it keeps Denver close to the play in spot. Only 2 games separate them now I believe. So Denver will keep playing hard

Wizards winning tonight was huge

I said a few days ago all they really needed to do was beat Orlando and steal another game.

They did

Assuming the Lakers don’t make the play in, where do they go? Do they call it quits on this terribly put together LeBron team? Pels own their picks for the next few years including swaps, they’ve got a roster on the way to the funeral home in terms of age.

I have no idea, but I guess since they don’t own their future for the next couple years, I think they’ll try to run it again with the same core

Did anyone catch the lakers feed by chance? I love how both of their announcers regularly call us the Pellies

that’s really up to lebron. Their future plans revolve around if he wants to stay or not. If he wants to leave, I’d assume AD would potentially go as well and Lakers would start the rebuild

I am sorry to do this, but I don’t see an update in the OP. What’s the current scenario as far as draft pics?

I will update the OP.

We get the Lakers pick if it falls 1-10. The Lakers currently have the 8th-worst record in the NBA, so we now stand an excellent chance of getting their pick. Because of the lottery, that pick would currently have a 26% chance of jumping up into the top 4, but it's obviously more likely to fall somewhere 8-10.

So, we aren't guaranteed the pick yet, but it's extremely likely -- I'd say over 90%.

Our own pick this year is traded unless in falls in the top 4, and there's probably only about a 1% chance of that happening. [Edit: OK, it's probably more like a 4-5% chance that our own pick ends up in the top 4.]

If we don’t make the actual playoff series between the two picks we would have like a 35ish% chance to get a top 4 pick I think which is pretty damn good odds.

LOL I was just looking at their schedule
Unfortunately they’ve already shut down fox and sabonis (pussies)

we need to send a fruit basket to the Knicks and wizards

Ok so the lakers can still make the play in they just need to be bottom 10 at the end of the season?
