re: Your Top 5 Steely Dan Songs

I couldn’t do this without it changing every hour. I could shuffle 10-15 songs in an out of a top 5. I remember the first time I really became a fan. It was 1990 and I was 20. Driving from Atlanta to West Va to go rafting on the Gauley River with 2 dudes I waited tables with who were in their mid 30s. Dude who was driving had good weed and loved SD. I hadn’t really been exposed to many songs of theirs except the 4-5 that were regularly played on the rock station in Atlanta. We listened to 5-6 albums all the way through going up there in his car and high a kite. I just remember being blown away by the lyrics and the musical arrangements and the jazz/funk/rock fusion. I couldn’t compare them to any other band. I still think they are the most unique and original band ever.
