For purposes of this thread -- and in music generally -- the terms "best" and "favorite" are synonymous.

Much digital ink has been spilled on this board arguing for Blue album on one hand, or Pinkerton on the other. But let's drill down a granularity level and ask what I consider to be much MUCH* trickier question.

What's their best song?

I'm not prone to equivocation, and this thread strictly prohibits it, but let me just tell you, by way of background, that I was at one point firmly in the "Undone" camp. Until I was even more firmly in the "Only In Dreams" camp. Until I felt myself getting pulled back right where I had come from while my favorite v-neck cardigan got lighter and lighter.

I do think those are their best two, but I by no means expect anyone else to share this view. And, indeed, this is why I started the thread.

So...with a proverbial gun to my head, I'm going with:

Undone (the sweater song)....until I change my mind.

Your turn.

*I do not believe the Blue v. Pinkerton debate to be a close call. In my humble opinion, the Blue album is not only the band's best, but one of the finest albums ever made.

Everything from the blue album was good, but I’d have to go with Say It Ain’t So

It changes all the time with this band. Only in Dreams was a favorite when I was more into proggy stuff. I really like El Scorcho right now.

Very high on my list. Perfect pop song that I don't believe ever actually charted as a single. Or at least not well. Somebody can correct me on that if I'm wrong.

Late-term Weezer* has produced several sneaky, under-the-radar, gems, and trainwrecks would be my favorite of the bunch.

*for lack of a better descriptor.

Is Island In the Sun too poppy and gay? If so, I go with Say It Ain't So.
