Would Mozart or Beethoven have been able to understand or appreciate Led Zeppelin?

And/or bands like them? I’m only saying classic rock/funk type bands because I don’t think rap or pop music has any musical depth. Country seems like it’s pretty basic in musical talents but has the best writers.

Do you think that after getting past the whole electricity thing that some of the best classical composers of all time could come to understand or appreciate some of the most notable bands of all time?

Beethoven was deaf. He probably would’ve faked appreciation.

Damn I forgot about that. Could you write that type of rock music in their style?

I have a feeling he and Burt Bacharach would be BFF.

Well that’s certainly debatable

Both were know for straying from the norm at times, particularly Beethoven. So I’d say probably.

They would probably appreciate it more than most of us.

So classic rock, country, rap and pop are the only 4 genres?

His dearness was progressive and I think not complete (90% as I recall). As a younger man he had reasonabley good hearing, IIRC.

On a related (sort of) note, Für Elise may be the finest solo piano piece ever written. Well, I like it a lot, at least

Just crank the subwoofers and you can feel John Bohnams chops especially on When the Levee Breaks

Zappa or Queen. Miles Davis. Bill Monroe. Maybe Beatles, Maybe even Pink Floyd. Zeppelin and the Stones didnt break any new ground, they just repackaged some bluesy sounding riffs for a new audience.

No, but classic rock is more sophisticated music than new rock and the other three are the three most listened to music genres out there.

Thought about using them in the OP.

Zeppelin is one of, if not the most musically talented bands of all time.
