People are not understanding what I mean...
It's you who doesn't get it*. He was good just not good enough to top billboard, which is particularly weird since he was a gender bending Limey and that's usually enough for Billboard. I say Billboard because that's the chart you choose and for most over here that's like saying he won a Grammy... it doesn't mean you're really worth a shite... only that you can sell music to folks like you.
BTW that same cycle month before-of-after these guys also had albums many that I'd buy before Bowie (yep - I never did - glam rock didn't do it for me)

You know what I was trying to stay. Stop nitpicking.
I went to edit it but was too late.
People are not understanding what I mean about the article about artists without number one albums. Or choosing not to because it ruins their agenda.

No, we understand. We understand that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about when it comes to what music was popular in our own country. What agenda are you referring to?
Enjoy watching your longtime favorite team the Golden State Warriors this weekend.(See the Pelicans board for Hrryhill's posts on the Warriors).

His soccer takes are embarrassing for a Brit.
I’m guessing Milwall fan.

This is the first I am hearing that David Bowie wasn’t popular in America.

This is a really obscure topic to troll about

He was placed into Zoolander because no one knew who he was.

That’s the one example I kept thinking reading this thread. There was a reason for that cameo. The dude is a worldwide superstar.
And who didn’t see labyrinth 50 times as a child.
I seriously know who the guy was before I was even aware of his music. That is how big of a star he was/still is.
How do we have English trolls on this site?

I am not a troll but why mention I am English? Are we not allowed to watch College Football? We get 4 or 5 live games every week.
I was just surprised Bowie had never had a number one album. I wish I had never started the thread now. Jesus.

We decided 242 years ago we didn't want you telling us what to do and how to think.

Oh god, not this again. Leave that nonsense to the political forum.

I looked at your post history. You are either a troll or a stereotypical smug European that just can’t help himself.

Well you let your words get away from you. You said you were surprised he “was never really big in America” and you thought he was huge everywhere. If you are basing that entirely on the fact he never had a number one album, your reasoning is simply suspect.

Popular? He was a friggin icon.
