I don't usually get "hurt" when people I don't know and have never met die. So, in this instance, neither.

But when Dave Grohl dies I'm gonna call in sick to work and frickING WRECK MYSELF!!

Cornell.

Both were very influential to my personal musical tastes and I spent lots of time listening to both of their respective genres...but Chris was very unexpected and sad to me....TOTD tour recently, new SG album and on tour with them....the Songbook live album...WTF happened?

Gregg was old and has been fighting that liver cancer for awhile...it was more expected.

You stole a line from me to troll this topic?

Cornell for me. I had a Cornell solo show on my list of things to see.

Saw the Allman brothers at a JazzFest about 2009 I guess? They were around long before me. But Seattle music was what my years of 18-22 consisted of. Pearl Jam mainly.

I "celebrated" Gregg's death more. I mean by jamming some ABB all week and remembering his contribution to my music tastes.

So I guess Gregg. But it truth, it didn't "hurt" me. We all knew it was coming soon.

John Lennon

Duane Allman

Jerry Garcia

Jimi Hendrix

Jim Morrison

John was the worst, the others nearly as bad.

Stevie Ray Vaughan had the most immediate impact on me.

Now I often wonder what John Lennon would have done with more life. He'd likely be pissing off some people these days.

I remember that. I was probably eight. Neither of my parents were Beatle fans really, but they were both disturbed by it.

It was so random and so past anytime where he was holding "love ins" or saying he was more famous than "jesus" etc. He wasn't very controversial at that point.

I'm a big fan of both. I'd say Cornell because it felt like it was before his time and he was an instrumental figure for a generation that used his music to deal with their own struggles and have a positive outlet for it.

.....good example of what happens when you mix lazy people with a vague thread title.

Would have said Prince, but it's Cornell given those parameters.
