Joe Walsh. Very hard not to like that ordinary average guy.

quote:

Cornell, and Weiland to a lesser degree

I don't know why, because I wasn't really like this huge Soundgarden fan. Actually was a much bigger STP fan. But when Cornell died, I remember reading about it lying in bed to go to sleep and just feeling like a part of my youth was gone forever. I couldn't sleep. He was such a huge figure in the music that defined that part of my life. Weiland was known to have drug issues, so his death didn't shock me as much. I was very young for Cobain.

to think that all of these legends will be gone in the next few years is depressing.

Ozzy, if anyone.

The only celebrity death that ever brought a tear to my eye was Steve Irwin.

The only celebrity death that I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news was Randy Rhoads.

I just heard Brad Delp on the radio and remember how sad it was when I heard he'd committed suicide.

I also remember how somber everyone's parents were the day Elvis died.

John Lennon hit me hard and I was only a high school freshman. I’d say there are two remaining for me. Ozzy and Paul McCartney.

I grew up on 80s music with Freddie, MJ, Prince and George Michael and for all of them, those were somber days when they died.

But in the mid-2000s, I did a deep dive into the Beatles and became an instant fan. Some songs touched my soul. So much so, I rewatched the news clips of the senseless John Lennon shooting and cried like a baby, as if it had just happened.

I'm sure I'll be shaken if McCartney ever dies.

Elton John for me. He's been my favorite since I was a child.

Bowie got me. One day I'm listening to his new music which is really good, 2 days later he died?

No warning just boom.

I'm still saddened about Taylor Hawkins' passing. We're only a few months apart in age, we were both born in Ft. Worth, and we're both drummers. He will always be one of my favorites.

The true king, Sir Paul.

That will be the day that the music dies.

Elton John is my other one.

Already happened to me with Freddie and Neil Peart passed.

Elton John would be a real bummer. That will hit hard.

The dude is like 75 and still goes out there and jams for three hours. Unreal for a person at that age.

My favorite decade of music was the 80's. So it really saddened me when MJ,Prince,Petty,Bowie & Glen Frey passed. I love classic country to so I felt the same when Kenny Rogers,Eddie Rabbit,K.T.Oslin & Earl Thomas Conley passed on.

I'll be shaken and visibly upset when Alex Lifeson, or David Gilmour, or Jimmy Page, or Ace Frehley go.
