Neil is the best of all time. Period. End of story.

I saw Buddy Rich play live.

I saw Cobham at the Kingfish in BR in the late ‘70’s

Many may not care for the music they made, but Toto contained an absolutely amazing lineup of musicians. Jeff Porcaro was without doubt one of the best drummers around. Steve Lukather is a super talented guitarist. All the musicians in that group were seasoned studio guys. They were "A" call guys.
Super talented all around.

Arguably had the greatest drummer and bassist of all time in the same band.
Same can be said for:

Dream Theater - people shite on James as the weak link but it’s relative; he’s still a great singer with tons of talent but some just don’t like his voice

I am not saying they are the MOST talented, but the Zac Brown Band is grossly underrated when it comes to their music abilities

How does ELP stack up?
Obviously Emerson was ridiculously talented and so was Palmer (tho in my opinion his style was a bit over the top). Lake was the weak link by comparison but still pretty decent. He was better at bass than guitar I think.

I sometimes listen to Lucky Man closely and think the sounds they made in that one go underappreciated.

21st Century Schizoid Man. Nuff said.

Greg Lake was a really talented bass player. That said, he is one of the most underrated vocalists of that era. Guy had a wonderfully powerful voice. Even gum couldn't slow him down.

Yup.
Keith Moon was a great drummer. John Entwistle was a great bass player. Roger Daltrey has a great voice and is a great frontman. Pete Townshend is a great songwriter, a terrific guitar player and a fine singer. I'll give them the nod over Led Zeppelin because for my money Townshend wrote better songs than Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

We were talking about this in another thread but while The Who has a better live reputation, LZ has a better songbook and put out more top flight albums, at least IMO.
