The guy who can do it all is Mark Knopfler, but he's not best at any particular thing, damn close though. Great writer too.

We always forget about him, don't we? I think it's his amazing ability to import his sublime playing into wonderfully crafted songs. His brilliance lulls you to sleep.

If you wanna see some great playing, you tube some of his appearances with Chet Atkins from the 80s. Just unreal
