I haven't listened to Dark Side of the Moon start to finish in at least 40 years......I listened to it a lot when it was originally released.... it still plays in my mind.

about five years ago there were a few that were pretty genuine, when the teenaged twin brothers started doing it and the over the top production crap started being key parts of the video, the thrill was gone and youtube was full of fake over produced reaction videos

this one is pretty good

she is reading the lyrics to DSOTM’s Time while the song plays, around the 6:00 mark the words start to hit home and you can see the wave of emotion change a feel good reaction video to tears streaming down her face and a hard cut before she starts talking about the song touching her

I have never been much of a Pink Floyd fan and have never listened to any of their albums.

You do realize that none of those "first time listening" reviews are actual authentic, right?

I enjoy some of those channels - why are you so confident in this claim?

by Pink Floyd. If not, you are in for the experience of a lifetime. I"ve been watching reaction videos of young and mostly black people listening to such music for the first time and they are blown away. I feel so lucky to be born in 1960, if just for the music I grew up with.
Nah. There's been lots of TDSOM threads this year. It prompted me to go back and listen to some of the catalogue. My finding was: I don't get it. Animals is light years better than TDSOM. Ditto The Wall.

You claim these guys are "acting"?

Lost In Vegas

I've been watching them for years. What exactly are they acting about?

What exactly are they acting about? They like some stuff and don't like other stuff. I don't understand what the scam is.

Why the downvotes. It’s an excellent album.

I love music but for whatever reason I have never listened to it. I mean I’ve heard songs off it on the radio but that’s it.

I don't like getting high and falling asleep, so me. Motorhead preferred. Hence the username. Crap like that and Phish/Grateful Dead and everything like it can disappear.

Never in my life have I seen anyone put Pink Floyd in the same category as party bands.

if youre not into lyrics, Floyd isn't for you.

You don’t think of Floyd as a “party band?” Pink Floyd was basically the UK version of the Dead. They were the premiere psychedelic band in London. Both bands were at the center of their respective acid scenes.

And I gotta disagree about the lyrics. It’s true that Roger Waters wrote some amazing lyrics. But they were revolutionary in their music apart from the lyrics and performed a lot of instrumental material. Also, they were an improvisational band like the Dead early on. They jammed out. You wouldn’t even have to understand English to dig their music.
