Very unique voice from the early 90s. I guess she's country although leaning folk.

I've heard her. She appeared as a guest numerous times on "Prairie Home Companion" back in the early 2000s.
Her style is country. Imagine a LeeAnn Womack type singer with more of a feminist bent.

Iris is amazing. I've seen her multiple times and a couple of times with Prine. Great stuff.
I have friends who have gotten to hang out with her and Prine in a cabin on the White River in Arkansas, just staying up all night playing music in a living room. Lucky bastards.
"My Life" gets me weepy every time.

Her voice is an acquired taste but I like her. I remember that they used Our Town on the final episode of Northern Exposure. 50 Miles of Elbow Room is another good one off that same album.
