The Dwight Twilley Band was Dwight Twilley and one other guy
I always thought Phil Seymour got a raw deal... They couldn't call it "Twilley & Seymour"? Or "Dwight & Phil"? Or for that matter "Phil & Dwight"?

Yep, Shannon was irreplaceable. The 60% of Blind Melon remaining are about 25% of Blind Melon, because math.

Queensryche was carried by the genius Degarmo.
Once he left, it went to total shite.

Survivor
While Jim Peterick was quite a musician, the singer Jimi Jamison absolutely carried that band. In my mind Jimi was every bit as good of a singer as Steve Perry.

This is as ignorant as saying RUSH was carried by Geddy Lee's vocals.
Summers and Copeland are two of the best to ever pick up their instruments. Sting's job was quite literally to write songs and stay out of their way (which he did, masterfully).
My answers:
T. Rex
Blur

James Brown was the absolute ultimate band master...always in charge on the stage. BB King and Clarence Gatemouth Brown were always in control of their bands.

You can say Disturbed would be entirely different and would be correct. Draiman is one of the most unique voices in rock and lends himself to a certain type of writing and quality.
However, Donegan and Wengren are very good musicians and write quality stuff. Their talents would be welcome in other bands. "Carried" is a bit strong.
Disturbed’s albums all sound the same to me (10000 Fists is still an all time album for me personally). You put a mediocre vocalist with those guys, they’re nothing at this point. Draiman would have succeeded eventually anywhere. Just my opinion at least.

Megadeth.
Mustaine is a genius and writes almost all of the songs... but he’s also near Gene Simmons-level when it comes to keeping all the money.
And thank God that Metallica gave him the boot. What a sad world we’d live in without the music of both Megadeth and Metallica.

What? I know people liked Neil's style on the records but he is easily the weakest component of the band.

Hootie and the Blowfish and Matchbox20.
Both Darius Rucker and Rob Thomas have had really successful solo careers showing they never really needed their bands.

No one gave a shite about Motley Crue without Vince on vocals. And I happen to think the John Corabi album is very good. But there was zero interest from the fans in Crue without Vince.

Yeah... after they were already massively popular due to songs written almost exclusively by Sixx and Lee. Not to mention he left right when grunge was about to take over - I think that had as much to do with their decline as anything.
And no one on this board can argue that Neil isn’t the worst live by far of the 4.
