I was able to see John 2 more times in later years in larger venues. Neither of those larger venues provided the overall fun we experienced in the bar at the base of the Sunshine Bridge

I saw the reunited Everly Brothers at the Mid-South Fair in 1985. It was one those ‘free’ shows the fair had each night during its run.
They were great, still able to hit the highs and their harmonies were amazing to hear. It was an honor to attend and see them. Albert Lee was their band leader and guitarist.

I saw them on that tour in Joliet Illinois. They were still great.

Probably Metallica and Godsmack
Although Kid Rock was a very interesting show. Probably the most diverse group I've ever seen.

Gwar in 1994 at Tipitinas
My senior year of high school.
My mom didn't want me to go to a concert at Tipitinas on a school night. I was able to convince her it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me.
"They're dressed like aliens, and they shoot fake blood all over the crowd. I can't miss this."
She let me go on the condition that no matter what time I got home, I had to go to school the next day.
Concert was a blast. Got a little drunk. Got a little high. Made out with some random goth chick while getting splooged on from the Cuttlefish of Cthulu. Took a faceful of Slymenstra's crotch blood.
Got home at 3am. Made it to school on time. Though I still had Gwar juice under my finger nails, and my blonde hair had a slight tinge of red in it.

1A: The Sex Pistols at The Kingfish in BR
1B: J Geils at The Centroplex in the early '80's when Peter Wolfe got everyone in the place up and dancing after Ossie Brown said there would be no dancing. The handful of cops quickly gave up trying to enforce the edict, and the band went off and tore the place down.

Tipitina's was such a great venue. I saw Joan Jett there in August 1988. August in NOLA with no AC. Loved the show, Left soaked with sweat.

If I take out the recent 3 day festival in San Fran for GD60 then it would be:
Pink Floyd - "In the Flesh" tour (aka Animals Tour) in Baton Rouge PMAC 4/28/77. Saw Led Zep around the same time but Pink Floyd and me were on another world that night.

One of my bigger regrets is not keeping my stubs. I now sometimes wonder...did I see them? Did I see them both in NO and BR? Tips for sure:
Ramones X 2
Hoodoo Gurus
Guadalcanal Diary
Not sure:
The Connells

U2 on The Boy tour on The Riverboat President
Dire Straights at the Astro World outdoor venue
Lenny Kravitz at Tipitina's before he got big
Re-Birth Brass Band at the 2006 Jazz Fest. Not a dry eye in the crowd.
Not the best just the coolest. Peter Tosh on The Riverboat President. My cousin's step father at the time owned The Hotel Provincial in the Quarter and he worked as a bell boy that summer. He brought the band's luggage up to their rooms and instead of a tip they gave him an ounce of weed. So we were high on the same weed as the band during the show.

Saw Van Halen in their first ever concert with Sammy Hagar, almost exactly 40 years ago. Hirsch Memorial Coliseum in Shreveport.
Also, the Eagles at the Sphere was very memorable due to the venue.
