What single song is timeless and would be a No.1 hit in any era from 1960 forward?

It doesn’t have to be a song you like.
I was thinking Prince or Michael Jackson songs, but I’m going to go with “I will always love you” by Whitney Houston.
This song also hit No. 1 on the country charts for Dolly Parton.

From 1971, this song was recorded by dozens of artists including Elvis, the Pet Shop Boys and the #1 hit by Willie Nelson.
"Always on my Mind" is timeless.

Someone mentioned Satisfaction. I agree with this. It was and is still edgy.

First song that came to mind.

Great choice. It would have been a hit in most any era, although it probably wouldn't have sounded the same in the 1960s before the early strains of disco started to be heard. It would have likely had a more Motown sound.

I know it was a few years back.............but AC/DC Shook me all night long is the only song I ever heard that could be played at any type club out there.
The Cowboys at the Honky Tonk in Monroe would even go nuts when that came on!

How can a song that didn't even enter the rankings, much less hit No.1, in its own era, qualify?

Highest it reached on the charts was No. 35.
I think if a song can't even achieve No.1 in its own era, it can't be considered a timeless No.1 hit in any other era.
