The one that I though contained Techno, Drum and Bass, House, Breakbeat etc.
I can agree with you on that one for sure
I've read people saying anything without "live instruments" isn't real music and stuff. Pretty much discounting anything with a synth in it, which I think is a ridiculous stance. I was referring more to those people.

Theres zero musicianship involved and the lyrcal integrity is juvenille.
Even so, lyrical content has taken a huge step back but that's mainly radio hits. There are still plenty of artists that have strong lyrical content. Immortal Technique, MF DOOM, L'Orange, Logic, Chance the Rapper etc. Everything you said is a generalization

So now you are equating rap to hip hop?
Beastie boys are good, ill give you that. Wouldnt call that rap either really. You keep pumping outkast like its the only example of good rap. Their live show is pretty meh and i dont even know if id consider them to be strait up "rap" music.
I thought kendrick lamar and nas were some of the better rappers ive seen live. But the percormances are really just kinda meh because rap blows.

Yea bro, immortal texhnique had like what 2 good songs? And no one gives a shite about MF Doom excepf you. shite sucks. Chance the rapper and tyler the creator are pretty good lyrically but really on good in a studio setting with a producer.

Do you even jungle ragga bro?
Some of that underground stuff from the UK is pretty good IMO

I like Tyler the Creator a lot, he's probably the only hip-hop guy I like in today's scene, but he owes everything he's ever done to Kool Keith
He's ripped Keith off so fricking bad

I'm surprised you aren't a fan of immortal technique. Most of his content is a bunch of liberal bullshite.

Im not a liberal
Eta: i listened to it freshman year of college. I remember liking peruvian cocaine but that was about the extent of it.
I think rap to the right beats sounds good. See SBTRKTs new album. the beats usually just blow like the ignorant slaang lyrics that curse excessively. Its making our youth dumber, trashier, more violent, and more irreverent. Rap music has had a negative effect on society for the most part.

I don't think anyone associates rap with good live performances.

Jam Bands..just end the f@cking song already!
New/Modern Country..Redneck twang puked over Pop
EDM..Don't do drugs..Tiesto Deadmau,etc..overpaid
Rap..I'm not from the hood..nursery rhymes for adults..too misogynistic, ignorant, and illiterate, sans the better elite rap artists.
That said, I do like some Widespread, Dead, Aldean, Toby, Daft, Crystal Method, Killer Mike, Kendrick, Kanye, etc..tunes. Just not up my main Alt-Rock alley for the most part.

meh, no one cares about that stuff anymore. Whether it's a troll or truth, the jam band debate with non jam-band fans is stale on here
