I dunno, I think that's pretty important, especially related to today when most everything has electronics in it to some degree.
I just find early electronic music interesting, and I would think a lot of music nerds would too

Raps fricking terrible bro. Not sure why youre still trying to defend that shitty genre. Whens the last time you saw a rap performance and thought "damn that blew me away"?

1. Country. It's all pretty terrible.
2. Too 40. Club hits are pretty awful with the exception of gems like Dark Horse or Fancy. All the turning down for whats sound the same.
3. Punk. I'm just really not a fan of it. The Ramones are about as deep as I divulge myself into it. It just seems effortless for the most part.
4. Jamtronica?* Most of it all sounds exactly the same and have terrible vocalists. Papadosio, tDB, The Werks, Brother's Past, etc.
*I guess that it what it is called.

I just said I think it's important for people who consider themselves well educated music snobs to know about that sort of stuff to some degree. I like it, but I can understand not enjoying it.

Youre right. Only 93% of it is mindless. depending on how you define mindless, like most of the people that write the lyrics barely graduated high school . Theres zero musicianship involved and the lyrcal integrity is juvenille. I understand hiw a gdi still going to freds would think it sounds interesting or cool. Lots of trashy southern types do.

Agreed. 80s was hip hop IMO. It was a different style. I wouldnt classify grandmaster flash as rap. It was a cool, small musical movement that turned into something very mainstream and terrible after biggie died RIP. The genres been purd shite for the past twenty years.

Electronics in music is hugely important to lots of genre. I referring to a specific genre called Electronic music. The one that I though contained Techno, Drum and Bass, House, Breakbeat etc. If all that is not covered under the Electronic Music umbrella than I stand corrected and apologize Dan. Whatever genre that is is my least favorite. Which was the question posed by the OP.
