So you didn’t know what it was, tried to google it, found a result, post that you found a result, but don’t post the result.

Most of the guys here shouldn't know too much about them ... harp guitars had already died on the vine by the time that pic and vid with FDR was taken. Gibson's harp guitars, meant to fuse guitars and the low pitch notes found on pianos and bass viols, showed up in the early 1900s and they never took off and they faded into obscurity. They were anomalies, they were odd and difficult to play effectively, they were bulky, heavy and difficult to transport, they were VERY, VERY expensive for the day and they simply got no traction for all those reasons. Think "keytar" but of the 19-teens LOL

I don't know anything about the history of the harp guitar, but Michael Hedges kind of brought it back in the 80s/90s, inspiring some musicians to start playing it. For example, Muriel Anderson started playing harp guitar after seeing Hedges play it in concert.

I originally created the song "Master of Puppets" on the harp guitar. I was in a brief coma as a result of a snowball fight and James Hetfield stole the song and released it on a Metallica album.
