Glen Campbell is still much better than FGL. He was more of a studio musician/guitar player than any type of singer for a genre of music.

There is no such thing as "Country Music" today. Not sure what the trash that is being put out should be called but it is definitely not country music... not sure it's even classifies as music.

Shame of it is, the same is happening to Bluegrass music and the downfall of that started when Cherry Holmes came along.

Yep, I'm old and I like traditional country and bluegrass music.

George and Alan nailed it with "Murder on Music Row"

It's home, Nashville, was invaded by hipsters, and they conquered and made it their own. It was only a matter of time before Country Music followed. GloboHomo is all conquering, and will brook no resistance.

The "hipsters" in town are the only ones keeping real country music alive, and they came to town long after mainstream country went to shite.

ANd Orville Peck is a performance art project. He's not real, per se. That said, his music ain't half bad.

Because he was and still is a fake and an arse. Waylon Jennings publicly called him out for ruining country music. He sould have been a rock musician because that is where his heart was.

He was entertaining but old school country is a bout telling the story and not flying on a string or shooting fireworks. He learned a lot from the arena rock bands of the 80s.

Country music needs less snap track and more storytelling.

There is fantastic music out there and the internet has made it more accessible than ever. I'll venture to say that by volume, we are in a golden age of great music. You just won't hear it on the radio in baton royge.

Nothing wrong with the BDSM cowboy. From the two songs Ive heard its more country than the faux rock, pop, and hip hop put out.

50s-70s were the golden age of country music. The songwriting was awesome and the later generations just can't compete.

The ruination of country music has been going on for decades. Think Chet Atkins and the Countrypolitan/Nashville sound. Strings replaced fiddles and the twang was toned down...etc. Crossover money.
