Are lefty models more expensive than standard? I would think resale value takes hit.

I write, shoot and bat lefthande but luckily I throw and play guitar righthanded.

Not only are they more expensive there is just less overall options to buy. For example there is no PRS silver sky in a lefty. Just one of many examples. Fellow lefty here.

My dad has a early 70s D-35 that resonates like a drum but guess who won’t be able to play it when he passes?

I’m pretty sure they are due to the limited quantities, changes in tooling, etc that is required to produce them. But I don’t look at righty stuff anymore. Haven’t for several years. You find a cool guitar in right and can never find it in left.

It’s kinda like the shoe store. A buddy of mine wears size 15 shoes or something. So he tells the shoe store to show him all the 15s. Usually one or two pairs and picks from those. No sense in looking at what they don’t have in your size. That’s how I operate with guitars. I’ve been disappointed too many times.

But there’s definitely more choices now then even 10-15 years ago.

Not a big fan of the J200 but

A prewar Martin D-45

I can fap to that.

I have pretty much everything I want but if somebody offered me an ES-345, I feel like I'd have to accept it.

Edited to add a snap of the last Rhoads I owned, about 10 years ago ...

I had a hand-me-down Rhoads (actually was my first solid body electric ), briefly, with fairly hot Dimarzios. Yours looks to have been worth about 463x what mine was. I payed it forward and gave it to a young player who also had a connection to the person who gave it to me.

I got a Guild D55 a few years ago to join my Taylor LTD Koa 314. I think I'm set on acoustic.

I randomly came across this Haar tele that I have fallen in love with. A slightly faded fiesta red, double bound cream, with Peter Florance voodoo pickups. That's probably my dream electric right now.

And, I'd like to get a Fender Custom shop tele style bass (51 p bass style) in Lake Placid Blue with a rosewood fingerboard. Similar to this except with the smaller tele style pickguard in tortoise shell:

Not to mention those pesky chord charts....being written left to right....

That'd have to hurt some starting out...
