I am working on building my own Nashville style telly, but after that, I think I am just going to stick with the guitars that I have. My old Takamine sounds great, and I could never get an acoustic guitar that plays any better. It's like silk. Maybe, I might get a better resonator guitar one of these days.

Westerly, RI, Guild D-55

Late 60s Martin D-35

Late 50s or early 60s Stratocaster

(ETA: I probably need a Jumbo, Guild or Yamaha at some point, too. )

I'm content with my personal stable, plus I have all y'all's repairs and the subsequent post-bench "quality assurance testing sessions" keeping fresh, new, fun toys at my fingertips always. I am so fortunate in that way.

That being said, I should be dreaming about being a better, more diversified player and investing the time and self-discipline to make THAT happen. I fix a lot of fretted instruments for which I don't possess the skill set to experience or appreciate. That sucks ... and it's my own fault.

Case in point, so far this month ...

I had a 000-28 Modern Deluxe follow me home from C&M last week. I went in just for strings

Here it is next to my D-28.

I’m officially jealous
C&M (Kenner) is where I’ll go when the time comes.

The Clapton model for me.

Would also like a birth year guitar. That is 1973. So it would probably need to be a Guild. Seems they were making the best at that period. Not that a Martin is bad from the 70’s. It just seems to be a low point for them.

I agree, Mel is a GREAT guy!

The guitar was a 50th B-day present to myself. At least that's how i justified the purchase. I did a A/B with the Standard Series and it was no comparison. The Modern Deluxe sounds amazing.

Get a San Dimas-era neck-thru Jackson "Custom" (bound ebony and sharks) with a factory MIG Floyd. Can't miss. I'm partial to Rhoads models myself.

Edited to add a snap of the last Rhoads I owned, about 10 years ago ...

Rickenbacker 360

Mosrite Ventures Model 65 (or Hallmark)

I also want a Gretsch Country Gentleman style guitar (or Electromatic 5622 as they go by now) but that's not really a "dream", I'm just going to get one soon.

Must be a facebook pic... (it doesn't show)?

Mine: Added two masterwork series Yairi's this year a 94 and 95SB (think D18 & D28).... so adding a DYM75 which is a solid bodied Rosewood model with a nice cedar top... would round that line out.

BTW
That Collings AT-16 does like sweet. Use to date a lady that was into Collins guitars (and old banjos) and they all sound sweet to me.
