And possibly the best 1 chord song ever written

ETA" Thinking a bit more about it, basically the entire Gran Turismo II soundtrack...
Moby - Body Rock
Apollo 440 - Cold Rock the Mic
Rob Zombie Dragula (Hot Rod Herman Mix)
Filter - Hey Man, Nice Shot
Garbage - I think I'm paranoid
Cardigans - My Favorite Game
Foo Fighters - My Hero
The Crystal Method - Now Is The Time (Millennium Mix)
STP - Sex type thing
Soul Coughing - Super Bon Bon
Beck - Where it's At

jumper- Third Eye Blind
That first line "I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend."
Instantly takes me back to high school.

Most of the songs in here remind me of the 90s. I grew up in that decade and definitely associate a ton of these songs wiht that era.
But when I think of "most 90s" song, for some reason the one that comes to mind more than "hey jealousy" by the gin blosoms. And here's the thing, I don't like that song. I don't like it or the gin blossoms. I like pretty much every song listed ITT so far a hundred times better than that song. But there's just something abotu that sound that is so unmistakably 90s. I think if an alien life form asked "what did the 1990s sound like?" that song would be the best representation.

James "Laid" is pretty 90's to me, it makes me think of the American Pie movies

Definitely “Under the Bridge” by RHCP (one of the first songs I remember hearing on the radio) and “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes.
Also, “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows.
