Anything by tom petty

I agree. He doesn't age well.

I would add anything by Sting where he tries to sing a high note.

Not necessarily least favorite, I just find that particular song annoying.

I have never understood this.

It's a fun song.

It's not like it's some deep musical experiment that makes you question how music is truly made, or that will cause you to feel like you're seeing beloved friends or companions who have long since passed away.

But it is a fun song to just sing along with. I never understood the hate it gets.

It is most definitely crap.. but I find this song to be the most annoying "hit" of all time... nails on a chalkboard..

Eh, it was a weird time.

I don't hate the song personally, but the 90s was definitely an explosive time in music for testing genres. You could definitely hate some songs that other people love and it would be pretty understandable.

What, other than something that had that overly produced 80s sound like "Don't Come Around Here No More", "You Got Lucky" or "Jamming Me", by Tom Petty, hasn't aged well?

IMHO "Jane" is even worse. But "We Built This City" was a much bigger hit, and gets more hate for its notoriety

I don't really know that much about JA, never even liked the hits all that much

But I really like the JS "Count on Me", which I think is a pop classic of the period.

They really went into the toilet when Marty Balin left & they replaced him w/the unbearable screeching of Mickey Thomas, lead on all those Jeffersonless Starship singles we know and celebrate

I agree it's pretty awful but before you claim its the worst ever take a listen to "Who Let the Dogs Out"
Until the 'Pen Pineapple Apple Pen' song came to mind.

IMO, lyrically " We Built This City" isn't bad, but it was written by a deaf guy, then other people had to put those words to music. Rarely works right.

In my opinion, this song is truly bad. Thought it was awful when it first came out and seeing him perform it live was just cringe worthy.

“Worst” much like “good” or “bad” is up to interpretation. Don’t waste your time debating

I think a lot of the hate for "We Built This City" comes from just how far Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship strayed from their psychedelic roots in a bid to remain rock stars. You may or may not like "White Rabbit" but at least it feels like a song written by someone who was trying to say something, even if that something was just "I like drugs and Alice in Wonderland." WBTC, on the other hand, feels like a song written by one of the committees that produce movie scripts these days. Purely soulless pabulum.

Yes! I'm not a fan of "We Built This City" but Mickey Thomas sang one of my favorite songs from that era--Elvin Bishop's "Fooled Around and Fell in Love".

mean, I like it, but isn't Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now an objectively worse song than We Built This City? Again, I like Sara, but at least WBTC is fun.

Man that song reminds me of childhood, so I'm partial to it, but it is cheesy.
