Contain wasn’t a pretentious guy. Always seemed pretty down to Earth in interviews. He just wasn’t searching for fame and wasn’t interested in it when it descended upon him. I think he honestly just wanted to be left alone.

It's great that you disagree. But you're wrong. You seem to have a strange issue with Elvis, for some reason.

No, I like Elvis. I think he's great. I just don't think he's the greatest singer ever.

I don't think that he's the greatest singer ever either. But the fact that he's the most iconic doesn't even seem to be debatable.

Sinatra and Michael Jackson are his only real competition....and neither of those two did anything to change music.

I don't think pretentious means what you think it means. Kurt was not pretentious.

Marilyn Manson is textbook pretentious.

That did not happen. Courtney 100 percent killed him.

This has probably been mentioned already but Eddie Veder has to be the worse. That frickin' guy is so unlikable and humorless.

Elvis, pretentious? That's new to me.

A certain other band member is probably more famous now with his new band...

Probably 20 years ago, Courtney Love did an interview and described Dave Grohl as sorta the cool skater kid who liked to have fun and that everyone liked, thrown in with a bunch of angst ridden, alienated weirdos.

That was the general theme of it and reflecting on it all. We can see how true that really was.

I fricking hate John Lennon. Paul McCartney was the talent in the Beatles and he proved it time and again. All John Lennon did was make a bunch of frickin' noise.

They were the biggest band on the planet while he was still alive.
They couldn’t produce copies of Nevermind fast enough to keep up with sales of the album.

Foo Fighters are a good band, but Grohl, et al gets a lot of adulation that he does not deserve

He’s the frontman, songwriter, and driving force behind a multi-platinum band that has been pumping out hits (like them or not) for 25 years.

Prior to that, he was the drummer for the then-biggest band in the world and was widely credited by his band mates and the band’s producers for being the key ingredient that really elevated the quality and style of the band’s recordings.

I swear, for people posting on a music forum, it seems like a lot of you have no frame of reference for your horrible takes.

Foo Fighters and Dave Grohl are extremely overrated. Only 3 songs or so that are worthy of remembrance.
