The best day of my life so far was Voodoo Fest 2000:
Eminem, 311, and STP back to back to back. Lot of crazy things were going on that day. My brother and I still talk about that day.
I was there. Eminem was great. And STP was awesome. Amazing thinking back to that day.

I hope you enjoy..
I've just seen foo at every damn fest in new orleans..
Good shows ... just...
I was hoping voodoo would bring in more heavy rock/metal

I snatched up a one day pass for Saturday. Excited to see Foo Fighters live for the first time. Also excited to see Brand New and Black Angels.
My exact play. Everyone under 28 will be at the other stages.

Ditto. Probably won't set eyes on the Le Plur stage. Gonna drop a blanket under the palm trees by the beer tent, catch some rock, funk, blues & alt. music, meet up with friends, watch some Astros & Saints, drink some draft, and be there for check-ins with the daughter and her crew. They're costuming all 3 days so I'm doing the same. Look for me in retro Astros Friday, Girbaud/80s Sat, and Saints Sunday.

I love Voodoo. I don't get the hate. Plenty of room to walk around & do so many things.
I love the ambiance. I love the lack of huge crowds most nights. I love the timing of the festival coinciding with cooler weather/Halloween.
I absolutely HATE the direction the lineup has gone every year. The amount of rock/hard rock or heavier every year is almost nonexistent. There are some alt rock bands (not into that scene), but I'd like to at least want to go for more than 1 or 2 acts for the day.
You went from QOTSA->APC->White Stripes on Sunday in 2003 to being lucky if there's more than one decently-known band as heavy as the first two.

None of these bands are really close heavy. This year is pretty weak but the last few years they've had Ghost, Clutch, Slayer, The Melvins, and Ozzy. Its not meant to be a metal or hard rock festival.

Godammit. Because Crystal Castles had to molesting each other and get dropped from the fest, Black Angels now later and on a different stage.

Ok you also had Godsmack and Manson headlining that year. And those bands are heavier than almost everything on the bill this year. I didn’t cite metal or hard rock. I said rock or heavier. It was a ROCK festival. There’s no way you can look at the lineup this year and call it that. The lineup is catered to people under 30. Lamar. All the EDM. The lighter alt rock that all sounds the same that’s popular now.

Yea it went from rock with Nola flair to an EDM/Indie fest with one stage featuring the standard issue national festival headliners of the year

Yesterday's weather was perfect.
Saw good sets by Flow Tribe, Mondo Cozmo and Benjamin Booker, plus a couple visits to the Toyota music den. Prophets of Rage were on fire and had me ready to sign up for Antifa, then watched World Series game 3 in the expanded beer tent (had no interest in Kendrick Lamar or Galantis).
