I snatched up a one day pass for Saturday. Excited to see Foo Fighters live for the first time. Also excited to see Brand New and Black Angels.
What days are you folks going and who are you excited to see?

The last 3 bands on the main stage Saturday, the day said poster cassofer of thread is going... are Foo Fighters (avg band member age: 50) & LIVE (avg band member age: 47).. & Brand New who are in their late 30s by now.... Isn't over 30 the main market for bands like that?

The best day of my life so far was Voodoo Fest 2000:
Eminem, 311, and STP back to back to back. Lot of crazy things were going on that day. My brother and I still talk about that day.

Voodoo Fest will get hate every year no matter what despite the fact it's gotten better recently.

Personally, I think this years line up is one of the best in a while. Can't wait to get there, hoping for some weather like we're having now.

The lineup just hasn't done it for me the last 3 or 4 years. When you compare artists from VoodooFest with ACL, Hangout, Coachella, etc. it doesn't even come close.

ACL and Coachella are also both twice as long and probably twice as big compared to Voodoo. Of course they will be objectively better each year vs Voodoo.

That said, what makes a lineup good or bad is subjective - I understand that - but I think Voodoo did an overall good job this year.

I went to voodoo for the first time last year. The best thing about it is it’s not as fricking miserable crowded as every other music fest and you don’t have to wait an hour to get a beer. Was able to get a great spot for every show last year and never had to wait long for a beer. It’s just a lot more laid back it seems like. I only went because my buddy had free tickets and i wasn’t doing anything that weekend and it ended up exceeding my expectations

I'm going all 3 days (mostly as a chaperone on the grounds, as I'd never let my HS daughter go just with friends)(no pics).

Scouring the schedule and getting to know the lineup, there's a good 30-40% of the bands I actually want to see. Last year I had a grand time camped out near the beer tent with friends and other parents, a view of 2 stages, shade, and big screen TVs for NCAAFB/Saints/MLB playoffs in the beer tent. Plus decent food options, free parking (if you're there early) and no waiting on bathrooms (Jazz Fest should copy their separate restroom areas, with outdoor, fenced urinals for men - they're way better than that sounds).

The grounds are easy to navigate and it's pretty easy to get close up, except maybe the EDM stage, which I went to once all weekend. Last year I discovered All Them Witches, and saw them from the front twice in two days (Toyota Music Den miniset and full set the next day).
