Disagree. They had a number of hit songs just didn't get over popular. I was surprised at how many songs I knew from them.

I loved the first album. Ones after I just didn't get into like the first. Think they underrated due to being a side project

This may sound weird, but Poison. They were definitely a hair band, and carried all the connotations that go with that label, but they were all very talented musicians.

Sans Robert Christgau 5* ratings and musicians influenced, A band with relatively no chart success and very modest album sales. Exhalted mostly posthumously in subsequent movie tributes and credits, music history, etc..
My favorite college era band by a country mile(sorry REM, Husker, Ramones, Pixies, Church, Roxy, Smiths, Cure, Furs, etc..)
