Ill give you 2 honorable mentions to start with : Book of Souls and Dance of Death. Both solid albums who just missed my top 8 . Ok heres my top 8 from 8 to 1:
8.Brave New World
7.7th Son of a 7th Son(ironic)
6.Somewhere in Time
5.Powerslave
4.Iron Maiden( debut)
3.Piece of Mind
2.Killers
1.The # of The Beast

The top 3 are very close and could switch spots at any time .In fact , Piece of Mind had been my #1 for many years but recently Killers and # of Beast have just nudged past it ...Lets see your rankings my southern neck peeps!!!!!!!!

I'm going to have to include a couple of live albums on my list. I listened to Live After Death every day for years. And Flight 666 has to be included because Fear Of The Dark.

ETA: Ok, Flight 666 didn't make the cut but Fear Of The Dark live is amazing.

Brave New World
Somewhere In Time
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
Piece of Mind
The Book Of Souls
Iron Maiden
Live After Death
The Number Of The Beast

7th Son needs to be higher

Fear of the Dark has to be on that list somewhere.

My personal list as a fan since 1982

1. # of the Beast
2. Peace of Mind
3. Powerslave
4. Iron Maiden
5. Killers
6. 7th Son
7. Matter of Life and Death
8. Somewhere in Time

That being said really the Albums from debut to Powerslave move around depending on the mood. Many love Somehere but to me it never hit like the other classic Maidens. I only really do not like the X, XI and Final Frontier

Don't think live albums should be included

1. Number of the Beast
2. Killers
3. 7th Son
4. Piece of Mind
5. Powerslave
6. ... gets muddy here for me as most of the rest of their albums have some amazing songs but on the whole are weaker than the above five to me

POM
Beast

Somewhere in Time

but if we are talking live then it's "Beast over Hammersmith" to me that is the best

In general, I think live albums are kind of cheating in lists like this. But Live After Death is too good and too iconic of an album not to include it.

i know but i try to do these polls with just the studio albums . for example if Included live for a band like Judas Priest then "Unleashed in the East" would be a run away number #1 .

I saw the World Slavery Tour in Huntsville in 1985; here was the set list:
Intro - Churchill's Speech

Aces High
2 Minutes to Midnight
The Trooper
Revelations
Flight of Icarus
Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Powerslave
Guitar Solo
The Number of the Beast
Hallowed Be Thy Name
Iron Maiden
Encore:
Run to the Hills
Running Free
Sanctuary

Hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen

Very hard to rank…so many great albums. As many times as I’ve heard them, something new becomes my favorite all the time.

A little treat for you Iron Maiden fans - Maiden LA is a tribute band/side project of Steve Blaze of Lillian Axe fame (best metal guitarist to come out of La. imo). The band also features the bassist from Lillian Axe and the singer and drummer from Dark August (another great late ‘80s/early ‘90s N.O. metal band). These are some of the city’s best musicians who are really just doing this for fun. They are playing Friday, Aug. 27 at Southport Hall in Jefferson and Sept. 10 at The Battlefield Bar in Chalmette.

Top 8 Albums --- Iron Maiden
Here's the definitive list in the correct order:

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
The Number of the Beast
Somewhere in Time
Piece of Mind
Brave New World
Powerslave
Killers
Iron Maiden

Honorable Mention: A Matter of Life and Death and Fear of the Dark

It's worth noting that EVERY album has at least one crushing classic:

Dance of Death - Paschendale
No Prayer for the Dying - No Prayer for the Dying
Final Frontier - Coming Home

Too hard to rate, but Seventh Son is definitely my #1. Live After Death was the second album I ever bought (Motley Crue's Girls Girls Girls was the 1st).
