So far I see the two most popular albums are:

White Pony - Deftones
Moondance - Van morisson

Crazy Love and Into the Mystic are masterpieces. As are Passenger and Knife Party. This thread delivers what I was looking for.

Jammin Pigs right now

Don’t think Animals will ever be up there with DSOTM and WYWH for me but it’s firmly planted at #3 favorite Pink Floyd album.

I love them all and really could not pick just three but DSOM has been covered pretty good in this thread.

Love Animals. Dogs is a perfect song to me. I know Division Bell takes a lot of heat but its one of my favorite complete albums. Just too many good tunes on there not to be recognized

Also, if I think about all of Floyds music and try to pick out my 5 most favorite songs, none of them come from DSOM. Now that is not to say I dont love them all but If I had to pick 5, it would be

1 - Shine on you crazy diamond
2 - Comfortably numb
3 - Echoes
4 - Dogs
5 - High Hopes

No particular order, but these would be my top 10

Us and Them
Shine on You Crazy Diamond 1-5
Time
Dogs
Pigs (Three Different Ones)
Echoes
Have a Cigar
Great Gig in the Sky
Comfortably Numb
High Hopes

That stretch of Dark Side, WYWH and Animals is unmatched by anyone. I know the Wall is super popular, but it feels way too long (1hr20min) and doesn't have the flow of the others mentioned.

DSOTM 42 min
WYWH 44 min
Animals 41 min
Meddle 46 min

All in that sweet spot range of 35-50 min. I'd like the Wall a lot more if it were cut down to about an hour, but it stays as my 5th favorite PF album.

For whatever reason, I am only now getting interested in Pink Floyd. Watched three documentaries this weekend. Never realized those albums were so good. But have to say, I don't get Animals yet.

Its a 35 year obsession of mine. I have every album and have listened to each one of them thousands of times. Animals is fantastic. Dont get so caught up in the political and meaningful things with these guys that you miss the musicianship. David Gilmour is probably one of, if my the best in my book, rhythm guitarist ever. He does not over play the music and appears in just about every floyd song

The guitar ending of Pigs is just masterful.

I would also suggest you listen to some of their music played by a few of the cover bands. Brit Floyd does a unreal job of recreating the music written and played by Pink Floyd is a much cleaner format. They have perfected a few of the songs and are well worth listening to.

Shine on
Comfortably numb
Dogs
Pigs
Echoes

Id advice you to put this concert on and listen. Extremely well done. Damien Darlington has things perfected.

I agree with you. Im not sure its the length that keeps me from putting it at the top, it could be the message. I have never agreed with Rogers, anti establishment point of view and never will. It never kept me from liking the music, I just dont agree with his anger or rage.

I actually look at DSOTM as a song and not a album One continuous amazing song.

Oh, I don't. Trust me.

He has moved up my list so fast it's crazy.

Part of the problem is my impatience for really long songs. I have this issue with Rush as well.
