I go to Fest every year. I never camp out at a stage for a big name, and I really rarely care about the big names. Somebody big I really like? That's an added bonus. I bop in and out of the smaller stages. Some of my most memorable moments are at the Lagniappe Stage in the Grand Stand. I like listening to folks I've never heard of or never seen before. I enjoy the food and the people watching.

Weak lineup? Maybe so but I enjoy the 70+% of artists from Louisiana as much as any big name.

I like dave, luke, lil wayne, santana, my morning jacket, cheap trick, and the wailers.

What are yall going to do when all the old folks die off?

At some point there will be no more rolling stones.

Any of the pop rock acts: Halestorm, Paramore, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, etc would be a good grab

Hard Rock acts like Ice Nine Kills, Memphis May Fire, Asking Alexandria, Catch Your Breath, Nothing More, etc

So voodoo fest?

Musically relevant acts?

My bad

Why have relevant, current acts when you can listen to bands 30 years past their prime?

Genius!

I miss it, but Voodoo had basically gone full EDM in the years before its end.

Papa Roach has been on fire the last 3 years, are you serious?

Cut the Line
Kill the Noise
Leave a Light On

All 3 have gotten tons of radio play and listens on streaming service.

They are as popular now as they have ever been

The bands I listed were "gettable" and digestible.

If i had my personal druthers, a festival with Sabaton, Volbeat, Spiritbox, Ad Infinitum, Elton John, and Brian McKnight could take all of my money

Everyone wants to digest beers and eat high calorie food while listening to 50 years talking about attempting suicide

Eddie Vedder is such a whiny prick, which is who I assume you were talking about. My Dad died, my life is so sad, fame makes me cry, suicide is a statement. . .I just covered the themes of every Pearl Jam album

Jacoby Shaddix sings about suicide prevention and swallowing rage, primarily.

I'll dissent and say this is a great lineup at a certain price point, which Jazz Fest used to be at, but Jazzfest left that price point behind 10-15 years ago. And I love to go watch Tab Benoit, Corey Ledet, Flow Tribe, all these Louisiana acts, but not at $90 when you can go see them anytime. You need a prime headliner to justify $90+ and I really don't see them here. I'll probably go see DMB anyway just because I've never seen them.

Anyway I'm sure Jazzfest really makes their money off of Yankee boomers who fly down here and buy Big Chief tickets or special access Sheraton packages; these guys are price insensitive and don't blink at paying $50 a day to park at Cabrini so they can shave two blocks off their walk. In other words, what I think doesn't matter so much because Jazzfest isn't relying on guys like me.
