if the reason you don't like bruce is his political beliefs, it's pretty funny you like tom morello.

He's lucky Bruce lets him grace his stage... But, Bruce must see something in him other than the high school rock of RATM...

Tom Morello was the only redeeming quality of that dogshit Jazzfest set. Bruce is a mega doosh

Dead Feat was awesome
That it was.
Spanish Moon->Skin It Back was a flawless funky groove machine. Big props to Paul Barrere. He was co-MVP with Anders Osborne for the night.
Easy to Slip was a nice addition. I have been jamming that since Phish debuted it at Dick's N1 last year. Billy Iuso played his fan favorite Do Or Die. Other highlights included Going Down the Road Feelin Bad, I Know You Rider, and Dixie Chicken. The Other One stayed true to form and got pretty spacey.
Fire on the Mountain was probably the jam of the night. Anders did a great job of fusing Jerry's tone with his own distinct chops. You can hear how the touring with Phil Lesh and Friends has influnced him in that department. A similar jam to FOTM emerged in the AO original Ya Ya, resulting in a blistering take that differed greatly from its normal boundries. We were also treated to another Windows, a tune Anders has been killing lately (which also includes the lyrics "I was jamming to the Dead...Touch of Grey was on the air")
Great show. I might make it back there tonight for round II.

Morello has a solo album under the name The Nightwatchman that consists of acoustic political folk songs.

I'm sure he's a talented guy, but RATM was not my thing at all... He aligns politically with Bruce, I get it (little too far right for me)..

First time I've ever seen that in the same sentence as Springsteen and/or Morello

Arcade fire was excellent as expected. Great show, great setlist. I think Win is now somewhere near Gentilly second lining.

Fogerty played a great set. Anyone else see it?

I was there, I thought it was great.

Shorty delivered as usual and Ckick Corea was world class. Dumpstafunk was as funky as a band could be. Blodie's jam didn't hold back either. Nothing but pros on that stage.

Great set by Fogerty. So much energy, and he can still rock.

I had every intention of watching half of Fogerty and then heading over for Trombone Shorty. Fogerty was awesome so I never ended up leaving. I figured he would give a good show but I was actaully quite blown away. I think he was the best show I saw all Jazz Fest. Just awesome.
My wife was sick and couldn't go and the other couple that was to join us ended up bailing too because the girl is pregnant and wasn't up to it today. Tickets were already bought so I actually went to the fest solo today and probably had one of the best times I've ever had out there. I saw somebody perform on 7 different stages ...8 if you count hearing some of Bobby Womack as I passed by on the track at some point in the day.
Started with Creole String Beans on Gentilly
Jonathan Boogie Long on Acura - this dude was surprisingly pretty good.
Jesse McBride in the Jazz Tent for a few minutes
Stopped in the gospel tent on my way to Lagniappe and saw some all male group that I don't remember their name but it was pretty entertaining.
Lagniappe for The Mulligan Brothers. I've seen these guys a couple of times now and they're really good if you're into their kind of music.
Blues Tent for a little Deacon John
Then over to Fais Do Do to catch some Robert Earl Keen
Finished the day up at Fogerty as mentioned.
Pretty awesome day. As always I'm sad to see the festival end. Until next year.

Oh yeah...forgot to mention that I stopped in at Acura for a couple songs of Arcade Fire on my way to Fais Do Do....the crowd seemed to be into it and I'm sure they put on a good show but they're just not my thing.
