Tipitina’s is posting that The Killers are doing a show there this Thursday…ahead of their headliner act for Jazz Fest on Friday. To me, it’s hard to believe that a superstar group is going play at Tips

It happens. I saw Beck at the peak of his popularity at a place about the size of Tips. He just decided to play the day of and announced it on....maybe MySpace.

How are tickets being sold? Just through the Tip’s website?

That sort of stuff really happens around big music festivals. It seems like every year, a Coachella headliner plays a club show in Southern California as a warm up. Blur did it this year.

I got in, put my quantity, and then that shite was sold out before I could hit checkout.

Somehow I got lucky. I was signed into TicketWeb and clicked refresh right at 10 and got two. There was a presale yesterday and someone on Reddit said half the inventory was sold then.

Now I don't have to choose between them and Jon Batiste on Friday.

Some bands do small tours in before at smaller venues regardless of size. Saw Paramore a year ago at the Tabernacle in Atlanta which only holds like 2000 people meanwhile Green Day has been doing random pop ups at venues holding under 1000

not really a fan of any of their stuff outside of hot fuss.

But artists play at venues all over during jazz fest. Ones bigger than the killers, bigger to me at least.

Exactly. That’s the point. It’s a one time special event.

Unlikely famous bands I saw at Tip's:

10,000 Maniacs
Jerry Jeff Walker
Todd Rundgren
The Stary Cats
Cowboy Junkies
They Might Be Giants

So I’m assuming it was only Brandon & Ronnie(drummer) of the 4 original members & a bunch of hired guns on stage with them? I heard it will be all 4 original members for the Vegas residency when they play Hot Fuss in it’s entirety

Any truth to the rumor that the show was oversold and ticket holders were turned away?
