I'd like to say 90s since that was my decade, but realistically it's the 70s.

90s-00s would be the music of my youth, but the answer here is the 60s. If allowed to pick any 10 year period, 65-74.

1949-1959
It would be hard to beat the transition of the bebop greats to the more "modern" cool jazz.

I would go with the 70s because of the strength in a variety of genres and it being a strong decade of music from beginning to end.
Personally, I like the 80s more because I was 10-19 years old in those years and, like the 70s, a lot of genres were putting out great music for most of the decade.
Unlike the 70s, aside from a few bands(Pixies, My Bloody Valentine, INXS), a lot of music in the late 80s sucked.

The seventies is the best. Not only did it have a ton of fantastic flawless albums, it was very innovative too. Alt Country, New Wave, Rap, electronica, punk, metal all had their starts in the seventies. Is anyone really doing anything worthwhile today that wasn't going on that decade?

Tough choice, but I’ll go with the 80’s.

3) 50's
4) 40's
5) 80's
6) 90's
Those are the only eras that matter.
