Alan Jackson and George Strait will be doing a tribute to the Possum, George Jones. Will most likely be the only thing worth watching on the show.

Surprising. Country fell off after the millennium. All I look forward to now a days is Texas and Alt. country.

Nashville mainstream country is complete garbage and has been for quite some time.

There are some shitty songs and shitty artists, but saying it all sucks since the turn of the millennium is a stretch

Would rather stick a screwdriver through my head than watch the CMA awards

All 800 of them...seriously, why are there so many country music award shows?

90s country is amazing. I do love the classics (Hank, DAC, Merle, Conway, Waylon, etc.) but the 90s country music is incredible. That's just my opinion, I know a lot of people won't agree.

Agreed. I hadn't listened to country in a while and a few months ago I created a 90's country list in Spotify. I'm surpised at how often I listened to it. Excellent stuff.

I won't completely disagree with your 90's country comment, but I will add that the 90's is kind of when this country thing got a little hoaxy

Hell no. I'm talking 90's country like Restless Heart, Blackhawk, Vince Gill, Diamond Rio, Shenandoah, Strait, Brooks, Collin Raye, John Michael Montgomery, Tritt, Ledoux, Clay Walker, Clint Black, etc.

Not that some of these weren't hokey but they had some great songs in my opinion.
